Here’s a match between me and a random Guy. It’s pretty ugly. I’m still trying to figure out what works in this match up. St.lp seems to be good against his flips. But I might try cr.mp to see if that is an option. I need to react better to his slides and punish with atomic suplex. His flip grab does a lot of damage. I’m not exactly sure how it works though. I’m guess it’s kind of like hooligan.

Another random against Sim. I tried to chip him to death by the end and I thought lariat would at least hit on the inital startup. I should have just used EXGH. Guess I won’t be doing that anymore…

The range at which he is doing slides from, you can punish with LP SPD. But you have to be FAST. It’s not guaranteed on the slide in general, but in testing with Alioune I was able to punish with SPD unless he slid from a certain range. Guy can EX tatsu on wakeup, I have not tested if knees will stuff it, only splash so far. I have been able to headbutt most of guy’s jumps so far; I have only been thrown a few times. This guy had a life lead and was still walking in to you - you should be usnig st. MP more and walking forward. I find ultra 2 quite useful against guy.

Thanks for the tips. It seems like he’s pretty disadvantaged on the blocked slides. I’m not sure what the magic distance for him is though. It’s hard to tell since I’m not used to seeing it and it comes so fast. Headbutt seems to come out slightly slower now so you really have to throw it out early against him. I actually had a few decent matches against another pretty decent Guy (at least I thought he was pretty good compared to the other Guy’s I’ve played). I’ll try to post up videos later tonight. From what the frame data tells me, Guy is pretty punishable on all his blocked specials. You just have to block right.

I find it rather surprising you were able to get in with jumps. Other Sims abuse that j. MP.
wow, thats amazing. I’ve never seen anyone splash cross up Blanka with the threat of up ball or electricity…

You can’t be predictable with jumps or else you’ll never get in on sim. I try to vary it up with walk and block. Focus dash forward, early jump and late jump. That seems to work for me. But that sim wasn’t that great at zoning and keeping me out. My buddy Socialpathic plays a much tougher zoning game with sim. And when he had super, I was trying to bait it out with the jumps. He probably could have gotten me plenty had he not been looking to land that super. Then he jump the gun and I got him.
And yeah, I never us splash against blanka. You have to use knees to beat out electricity and you have to do it perfectly to safe jump ex up ball. 2 ways to beat ex up ball, bait it out, block and ex gh or bait it out, nj and have it go under you, gh over and do whatever.
