Truth be told. I don’t think other character thread forums have people like you that are dedicated to numbers and charts to make a OS flow chart so well and take community input. Even if there were, I doubt they’d take the time.
They don’t. I’ve walked into other character forums and have been amazed at how spoiled I am with the Gief forums. The only other forum that was half as decent was Dhalsim, which surprise had UD and Reaper posting in it. The other forums either seem dead, have one “how to do bnb tactic” thread and thats it.
Wish I could help out more shrug

I’m not really surprised that other players haven’t posted up option selects, I’m more surprised that they just haven’t bothered to figure them out. As far as I know, the only other player in SoCal who uses option selects is another Gief player who read the flowchart. Gootecks seemed really interested in the idea so maybe he’s working on it, but I haven’t seen it yet. I keep telling the other guys that they need to take advantage of it, but no one has so far.
Nice video UltraDavid. I really need to practice those option selects more.
I noticed you used the EX SPD alot. Other than the faster recovery, is there a point to using this move? I’ve never really understood its properties fully, and normally only use it by accident when I miss an Ultra.
You used it enough to make me think you were doing so on purpose, and was curious as to why. Thanks. :karate:
If I remember correctly it has additional frames of invincibility so it works great on wake-ups…at elast thats when I do it shrugs - in anticiaption of being schooled

I’ve tried a that os lk SPD thing a little bit and I seem to get SPD no matter what. I guess I’m doing it too slow? I’ve also tried practicing the cr.jab sweep os but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right or not. It’s hard to make the dummy dash immediately after wakeup. I just programmed it to back dash a couple of times, stop and do it again. I thought I had it a little bit but it was still rather sloppy.
The EX SPD is really good for starting your crossup game in the middle of the screen. The advantage of the EX version is that it leaves them grounded a lot longer for you to have time to jump and do your crossups.
Scrubs do it all the time because they’re mashing. For me it comes out on accident sometimes because I wasn’t able to get the 720 input out in time for some reason.
Heh I was just excited last nyte to finally start getting the taunt/ultra cancel down consistently in a fight. Watch ken go up…buldge the muscles and “yoink”!

EX SPD does some really weird stuff sometimes. I’ve input and done EX SPD when opponent is doing a j.HK, he is CLEARLY in the air and it pulls them down and I get SPD with the long ground time. Sometimes i’ll be grabbing limbs with it halfway across the screen in midair. (exaggeration) but still, damn near close to it.
This actually happens to me often. I don’t know how to explain it but mabey EX SPD has some anti air properties if your timing is perfect.
I mostly use it for the invincibility and ground time.
I’ve done the regular grab on bison as he’s doing a scissor kick lol. Bison has some really weird properties like that time I ultra’d bison in the middle of an EX psycho crusher that was caught on video lmao.
I dunno about psycho crusher, but knee press stuff is still ‘grounded’ apparently, so he’s throwable and everything.

So how exactly does the invincibility work it?
I rbg bisons scissor kick sometimes if the kick is deep it grabs him. I have also seen a gief dash towards the scissor kick and ultra him out of it.
I love how he thinks his throws beat SPD.
LOL yeah he is straight up ridiculous…although I was surprised at how little he complained in my match relative to most…lucky me I guess.
no im not
wow, dsp really sucks with gouken haha. You probably coulda ticked knees into suplex all day and then empty jump his ass when he tries to counter
Yeah, Bison is still ‘on the ground’…if you jump kick him, you can go into a combo just like he was ‘standing there’…so it should be ‘throwable’. Makes me wonder if Bison could get extra mileage by making scissor kicks “unthrowable”…the move is fast enough that it might be useful for ‘that’ situation…granted a good Bison won’t do knees without an FADC, that deep, unless its in a combo. shrug

A part of it is likely just laziness in general, or they don’t know how to even go about finding such stuff. The fact that SSF4 is coming in half a year only gives people another reason to focus on fundamentals over possibly game-specific option selects. That’s not to say that no research has been done though. I know for sure that there’s a thread on one for Ryu, and somewhere buried deep in the Boxer forum is one that works on Viper, Claw and Fuerte iirc.
Someone help my Zangief with the matches posted.
