For Honor launched - happy Valhallentine's day!

Fun game. Definitely like learning a new fighting game.
Gonna have to either play with CPU or vs a friend to get a hang of it.

Oh, so elimination does add something new compared to the other modes? I might give it another shot this weekend.

Any good Orochi players to watch on Twitch or Youtube?

Go to custom games and select duel -> bot lvl(1-3)
AI is serviceable at level 3 to get you in online shape.

Also playing as conqueror is so fun, his mixups are great.

The AI is better than real people

Hey anyone here has tips when fighting against the conqueror? He is by far the only class i struggle with the most. He attacks surprisingly fast, his unblockable charge move is hard to react to and his defense is tough to crack (he stops chains with a single block) I pretty much go defensive when i fight him and never attack him head on but it’s still a tough bout for me. I use Orochi and the Warden the most

Word. I was watching this stream and these dudes were battling 2v2 for a bit. The two I was watching were good it seemed, I mean, they were kicking butt. Then one of the dudes on the other team dropped out and an AI bot took over. It proceeded to destroy both dudes I was watching play. I was laughing.

Edit - The bot would meet up with one dude and those two would start fighting. Same thing would happen with the other two players. If the dude fighting the bot could hold out long enough his homie could make it to him. Then the bot would win 2v1.

I did up a guide for the Kensei and Raider

If you put any real time into them there probably isn’t much the vids will show you, but good for those who are looking at them.

I am maining him so I know how you feel. Conqy’s biggest problems are guard breaks and stamina.
Move around a lot, poke him a lot, mix in lot of guard breaks and keep an eye on his stamina for him because he will probably run out of it once in a match.

As for specific attacks. The charging heavy that we do, usually we change the direction just before release so predict that. A lot of hurt require smart usage of shield bash. So always watch out for that. Also most conqy will mix in lights when you surmount a challenge so dont get caught off guard by them. Also bleed is a pain in the ass.

If he starts dictating the spacing, you’ll probably lose, so focus on that area. In fact defensive players are the easiest preys, his mind game is strong.

He’s linear and is susceptible to side-steps and parries, his strengths stem from defensive play into counter-attacks. His regular blocks all have superior block - that means that the Conqueror gets animations similar to parrying from all of his regular blocks. He gets guaranteed guard breaks after REGULAR BLOCKING most characters heavy attack, and can threaten anything after blocking a light attack. The only mix-up option the Conqueror has when attacking is his shield bash, which is easy to see and predict because he only gets to cancel into it after a heavy attack IIRC. The Conqueror can’t feint his heavy attacks, it requires him to cancel into Full Block stance. This means Conquerors who decide to feint you will lose a lot of stamina, fast. So going for guard breaks into stamina break options is one of the best things you can do against the Conqueror, they eat stamina quickly. Apart from that, make sure to feint him into guard break attacks, you can’t really attack the Conqueror. You have to open him up first with a guard break or wait for him to get impatient and attack. His superior block on all of his regular blocks makes attacking him normally impossible.

Both the Orochi and Warden win against the Conqueror.

I want to make guides for all of the characters but I always lose myself whilst talking honestly.

My ending stats for the beta. I’m not gonna play much more until full release, I want to try the Shugoki WAY too much.

Some things I dislike about the 4v4s and game in general -
Running requires no stamina, this is stupid. An assassin has the fastest movement speed in the game, and they can outrun everyone if they’re last man. This makes chasing down the last man in 4v4s frustrating, and if they get a speed buff they’re 100% guaranteed to get a rez on a teammate for free.
The parry/feint OS is way too strong, it needs patching out of the game.
The Warlord is still insanely strong and feels like he eclipses most of the cast in everything.

These are my ending stats, couldn’t carry hard enough in eliminations it seems.

4v4 Deathmatch is a good mode, they just need to nerf the powerups, maybe don’t have them appear until 1:00 into the match, and don’t let them stack.

I agree that sprinting should deplete stamina. Too many cowards online that like to run away.

This…
Just finished downloading the beta overnight. And got a little taste due to tutorial and practice mode with A.I.

I’m thinking of maining Orochi and Peacekeaper. I’m a huge mark for Orochi’s ninja like fighting style and dual blade wielding.

As it stands I don’t get why there’s a perk that lets you run with no stamina when sprinting is free.
Sure you might want to sprint when you’re totally spent, but if you don’t over extend that shouldn’t ever happen.

What is the Parry+feint OS?

for certain game modes

You just perform a parry and then press feint every time. Every player I faced towards the end of the beta was doing it. I think there’s a form of “trueskill” in the game, because I lost my 100% winrates as I got further into the beta and fought some really good players. One was part of the original alpha testing team too! Had a nice long chat with him.

He said the guard break cancel properties of things like the Warden’s shoulder charge are all intended.

But he didn’t know if the fake side warning indicator of zone attacks was intentional or not.

It seems that i preorder this game since amazon emailed me that my copy already shipped. Lol.

Oh, now I’m finished with the beta. Ending tier list, probably 100% more accurate now the alpha tester I met gave me a 3-hour session and a ton of insight into what makes each character strong.

Tier 1 -
Warlord, Warden, Orochi

Tier 2 -
Nobushi, Peacekeeper, Kensei

Tier 3 -
Conqueror, Berserker, Raider

I’m so pissed that they went with the fucking garbage version of P2P.

Can’t even play multiplayer because of it, and even if I could every stream or long gameplay video I’ve watched of both betas has some kind of shenanigans due to the netcode at some point.
