I am keen as! It smashes Dark Souls PVP and provides a more consistent, less laggy experience!
You realize that For Honor is P2P also right?
P2P doesn’t always mean it’s bad holy shit. There isn’t any phantom range or delay on attacks in a stable connection. Even if you had low ping in Souls, you would 100% get phantom range and delay on your hits, even parrying has to be delayed to compensate for lag.
I think the issue comes mainly with modes where there are more than 2 players. 4v4 can be a mess if the host has horrible connection.
Froztey, you also play Nobushi, right? How does her stance work defensively, as in when does it dodge and what does it dodge? Its literally and figuratively hit or miss for me.
Started to use stance cancels offensively for people who want to sidestep all of my strings. I think that’s going to be important once people get sort of decent at fighting her. I ran into an Orochi who taught me the hard way light light doesn’t jail on hit and you can really easily step out of it.
I played every character to at least level 8 and played a lot of custom games to figure out all of their options with a friend, I’m fairly knowledgeable of every characters options barring the Kensei and Peacekeeper as I spent the least time with them(The beta ended). The Peacekeeper is the best assassin though, by far.
As a sidenote, Nobushi is tier 2 IMO.
I ended up choosing the Warden because he’s very solid and has high damage with strong mix-up. The Nobushi didn’t fit my playstyle well enough, she lacks strong mix-up tools primarily due to her attacks being too slow to properly threaten her kick as a mix-up and the worst guard break in the game, and she doesn’t have any superior block light counters which made me fall in love with the Warden.
So the Nobushi’s Hidden Stance has a dodge property on start-up and pulls her hurtbox back whilst you’re in stance, so it’s like an assassins side step. It automatically dodges certain side lights and top lights even if you hold it, but timing it properly is the key to success. You can cancel into it from virtually anything, and if you do an attack out of Hidden Stance it will always do the SECOND hit of the chain you choose, this means you can also kick out of Hidden Stance. You primarily use it as a feint tool to get an easy two-hit guaranteed combo string in. Nobushi’s usual light combo string starts from a light attack that doesn’t have a guaranteed two hit, but if you use Hidden Stance and then press light or heavy the Nobushi will always do the SECOND hit of her chains from Hidden Stance and Nobushi’s second hit of her light chain has a guaranteed combo into her third light chain attack.
It’s much easier to explain in-game than it is via text because I haven’t nailed the terminology just yet and idk how people are going to coin certain terms going forward so sorry if what I’m saying looks like a giant mess. Cause it is.
Don’t stance cancel against side steps, they eat too much stamina and don’t give you a heavy payoff against side steps. Do heavy feints and parry their side step attacks. This gives you a guaranteed guard break into top heavy follow-up. That’s how you shut down braindead assassin approaches. The go-to strategy for the average assassin is to wait for the opponent to attack and then side-step the attack to counter, unfortunately this a one-way ticket to parry city. If you do stance cancels you’re giving up damage, I’d try heavy feinting first to see what your opponent does, if they mash light attack then start stance cancelling. This strategy applies to pretty much every unique attack the Orochi has as well.
Are Gamersgate UK Uplay keys region lock in the US?

For those who missed the closed beta, an open beta will take place a few days before the release (February 9th-12th):
Is it worth it to get Prime then…? Looks decent-ish
oooo the game is getting reopened on the 9th? yes! time to play the shit out of it now
Happy to hear that, means my friend who missed out on the closed beta gets to try it out with us.
would the current beta data be used for open beta, or download a brand new file?
New file I guess, unless they changed nothing at all.
epic player skills, see, even fighting multiple players, a skilled player can beat them all

well of course enviornmental hazards helps, but still takes skill to defend and outlast them all.
Parry/feint OS tech I used a little in beta
Time your heavy attack to parry.
Press B slightly delayed, if you parry you’ll be in the parry animation and the input gets eaten.
Lol there are a bunch of scrubs on reddit and other sites complaining about environmental kills. Saying they are cheap and stuff and only bad players do them.
I think is the opposite. If you are not aware of your surroundings and you let yourself get killed like that, you are the bad player.
Is this game going to be alive in 8 months?
I think it depends upon the depth of multiplayer, the Souls community looks about ready to abandon Dark Souls 3 PVP now that both Nioh and For Honor are releasing with much better combat systems and better online structuring.
It will be between For Honor and Nioh for which one holds their interest, my bet is probably on Nioh but For Honor is a close second for me due to PC. I’m gonna play the shit out of both.
does Nioh even have multiplayer, PVE co-op mode, groups PVP, customization, playable female characters, online loot, variety of weapons, and variety of different combat styles?
For Honor has Vikiing, Knight and Samurai fanservice, layers upon layers of gaming incentives, story mode campaigns for each faction, personalized freedom of different heroes to play as and customize, 4 players co op (players vs a.i. + Dominion), 4 players vs 4 players + army of soldiers in Dominion mode, the greatest melee PVP ever,
the greatest graphics in the genre, free extra maps support
better PVP matchmaking than all the From Software games combined. smooth amazing netcode despite being P2P.
a Faction Wars conquest system that actually matters (worlds better than Mortal Kombat X’s tacked on cheap quality “faction war”).
For Honor makes even Overwatch look outdated, shallow and immature. plus overwatch’s idea of “rewards” are a joke.
of course like EA, people automatically underrate Ubisoft, even when they stumble across a genius concept with professional execution.
though For Honor can easily surpass Nioh’s total playtime, and For Honor respects, glorifies and caters to wider demographics
