I’m a piece of shit and I’m gonna ask if there’s any possibility you’ll ever spreadsheet stuff so it’s usable material when in-game and shizz. Cheers for the vid though, I’m about to make one detailing everything about the parry/feint OS as well.
How’d you get that stuff, in-game scripts or somethin’?
Well yeah, parry > guard break > baseball swing is always a solid option. Guaranteed armor back in most cases, super easy knockdowns into hazards and semi-respectable damage.
Ok, been messing with the Valk yesterday. She isn’t very strong but man she’s FUN! Piss poor damage but the range is nice. Jumping stab (up + x + heavy attack) has stuuuuupid range and is pretty fast. If I could master her dodge bleed that’d be great. Fuck using her heavy attacks though, way too slow. Managed to take out some Orochis in duels, which felt nice.
If this character gets a damage boost and a little more speed she’ll be a fucking problem. Here’s hoping…
I can’t use dodge characters because my brain is wired wrong. Not only is it difficult to stop going for the muscle memory parry, but my reflexes want me to dodge away from the attack, not dodge into it. Also, I’ve decided to make Conqueror work for me. A design that awesome just has to be played. The kettlehat is the best helmet ever designed, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. And flails are fucking cool as fuck, especially in the execution where you just knock the dude’s head off.
Also, glad to see that DSP tech is still alive and well. For those of you wondering, there was a clear red attack indicator and I blew through it both times. Unless he’s discovered some secret tech I don’t know about, I’m pretty sure Warden can’t block and attack at the same time.
Stats only come in play in 4v4, and only if you play using default rules rather than a custom game where you can switch gear stats off. 4v4 is still ass (well, at least Elimination is fucking hot garbage, Dominion kind of works if you want a more team based affair) but there are ways to play without bullshit. Besides, the passive buffs and feats are way, way worse than gear stats. Also, 2v2 is the best mode.
As an added bonus, 2v2 is fantastic for trolling babies who refuse to git gud. Instead of crying about MUH HONOR, I learned that as long as you don’t make big attacks that will get you stabbed in the back, holding off two people at once is actually really simple due to the pity the game takes on you by both making it way easier to block the second dude’s attacks and by how multiple simultaneous attacks interact with your defensive mechanisms. This is usually made even easier by both guys usually just spamming attacks without realizing that what they should be doing is having one guy fight me and the other one stab me in the back when I press a button. So defend, Revenge as counter, kill one dude with your double damage murder-penis while the other guy is down, and then deal with the second guy. If they both happen to be alive, rinse and repeat.
But no, you don’t want to learn, so you ragequit every time you have to fight multiple people at once.
Didn’t want to try the Orochi because everyone is playing her and the Warden, but my god she’s fun. Love all of the unique attacks and that advanced tech works with her like ZAFCs and parry/feint is decent. She also seems to be able to get guaranteed two-hit top light after parries against characters who make guard break whiff like the Nobushi, Kensei, Valkyrie and Lawbringer.
Raider is making me hate the game, can barely hold a 70% W/L with him in duels, absolute trash character. Will wait until fixed. Got him to Rep1 on duels alone though at least.
Probably the more fairer of the top tier at the moment, at least has to work to win and doesn’t win via vortex. Lots of punishing with backstep + R2, or the back feint heavy unique attack and stuff.
