even though half or three quarters of the characters didn’t work out, more things were balanced against each other, which means more balancing occurred.
if i try and spin a dozen plates and drop two, and some other guy tried to spin 9 plates and dropped one, who is doing more balancing?
when are these new comers gonna start listening to the old school mvc2 players? Yes, we are going to break the game and watch people that don’t want to learn it cry. This is regardless for mvc2 players. Its not elitist, its the truth
Look dude I know almost nothing about competitive Marvel vs Capcom 2 but come on, you just don’t get it. Do you realize that in literally every fighting game ever made there are going to be good characters and bad characters, right? Unless the entire roster consists of identical characters with color swaps some characters are just going to be better than other ones.
Obviously most people want to see MvC3 be as well balanced as it could be, but there are still going to be those characters that are just flat out better than other ones. Its not like Capcom decides before they even start programming the game which characters they are going to make top tier. Its not like they decide “Hmm, character X is going to be awesome and character y is going to be complete shit! Design them around this!” Obviously characters like Dan are designed to be jokes but you seem to have the idea that characters are designed to be ineffective on purpose, which is fucking retarded.
Also fuck the haters, Dan better be in this fucking game.
i think a lot of people don’t realize how shitty low tiers are on other games
i main Megaman/BB Hood/Juggernaut on mvc2, and cammy on ST. There is NOT A SINGLE MATCHUP that is NEAR as bad as Cammy vs. E Honda on ST that i have played on marvel with my team. not even santhrax or team scrub (who are probably tied as my worst matchup, both 8-2.). yet people still play cammy on ST, people still win vs. e honda, you can find vids of japanese players like nakamura winning that matchup at the highest levels of play. cammy does not have a single good matchup that i can think of outside of zangief (another rarely faced low tier), yet my megaman team has what i feel to be an advantage matchup on many magneto-focused teams (those that don’t have an assist like sent ground type that screws over my zoning gameplan and forces ME to try to attack)
i suspect it has more to do with the fact that people dont want to learn the complexities of top tiers and do not have the execution to play them. honestly if i had the execution to play sentinel i would just use him instead. santhrax is one of my favorite teams to play, but i don’t have the execution to compete with it. with megaman, i can beat people that have better execution than me and have top tiers but they have a severe lack of knowledge of the game, plus they often have a certain level of ignorance about the capabilities of low tiers.
i wish i had the execution to play sentinel, i spend hours on training mode for it but by the time i will have it mvc3 will be out lol
Lol…first video: Megaman (I think he’s closer to mid-high tier than low…similar to BH) is actually a pretty decent counter for MSP =P, and I doubt Shady K was in his top form in 2005.
Second video, first round Cammy and Spiderman actually didn’t do that much…you won with an Ironman j. FP into infinite lol. 2nd round was nice though with the Spiderman/Iron Man AA setups.
Low-mid tier is and always will be used for casual play. Good low tier team synergy can beat top tier yea, but usually that has more to do with the HUGE difference in skill levels between the two players rather than the low tier character’s themselves.
Some characters in Tvc are CLEARLY better than others, using comparisons in this instance would provide a point to you posting. The balance issue has been brought up, usable characters ect. At this point would you at least give an example of what you think makes tvc’s supposed balance better? How are the giants doing nowadays vs tekkamanteam btw?
