I hope it doesn’t create those attitudes! The whole idea is that we’re just a bunch of players who respect one another and are responsible for our community. Nothing else. It’s just an open group that people can join on Facebook to show that they support this sort conduct in the community. That’s all. Nothing else.
If people start thinking like that, then they’re not representing what they liked on Facebook, which is that all players are equal as people.
Yeah, I’ll agree that we need to get rid of this sort of terminology, especially from our announcers. I think Seth Killian stopped allowing the terms “mind f***ed” and “psycho abortion” on streams that he hosts on.
Right now, the group isn’t big enough, or contain enough pros, for it to have much suggestion to event coordinators. But I’ll consider putting that into the suggestions in the open group on the code of conduct. Because I agree, it brings down the quality of everyone’s experience.

No. Too many people entered very fast without learning the culture around srk. Unfortunately given how things ran on the website, the way people are taught is in a particular lovable SRK learning experience back when with rep. Although the gender issue is a new one. I’ve asked a lot of question and searched around but the history of females in the FGC is kind of a mystery to me.
This just makes me smile.
My thoughts: Ya’ll are weak. Some of the best players in the community became gods out of being verbally abused. Cableguy was smacked around and nearly reduced to tears by Smoothviper in a 2006 match. He didn’t need anyone to stick up for him as he busted his ass off and came back the next year to body Smoothviper. You also think Clockw0rk needed to run to some higher authority when Dark Prince beat him in a tournament and put him on blast? No, he came back, took his money, and got a steak dinner that night.
And seriously, if anyone wants to fuckin break their own control when they’re angry, they paid for their control, they can do whatever the fuck they want w/ it. If i beat someone and they break their stick, you think I’m offended? Fuck no. It just makes me proud of myself and entertained.
Unnecessary. There is a lot of integrity within the community, this was an unfortunate incident, yes… but passion (In the form of breaking your own stick, a bit of smack talk, or getting excited by a match, etc) doesn’t need to be watched, regulated, or chastised like this. We’re adults. Some choose to act like children. A group doesn’t need to be made about it.

On topic: Why do you need a ‘code’ for this? What your asking for seems like it would take a lot of the ‘drama’ and emotion from tournaments.
Plenty of sports with expectations of conduct still have drama and emotion. The FGC asks that you don’t punch anyone, and if you do it’s still kind of cool.
You’re naive if you don’t think trash talking doesn’t belong in the community. Feelings get hurt during a competitive event. Deal with it. People aren’t gonna give hugs and kisses to rivals or people they just lost to. You want the FGC to be recognized as a esport? Then look at any other sport. You don’t think these players get under each other’s skin to the point where talking escalates and tempers flare?
I’m not saying that there shouldn’t be a limit to what a person says to the opposing side, but if you can’t overcome what a person says to you during a match, then you obviously lack the mental fortitude to play in the competitive/tournament scene. You might as well stick to xbox live/psn where you can delete all the hate mail sent to you.

explain your supposed WWE mentality-logic regarding this.
