FIx the 8 frames to rescue this game from its poor sales

I’m also going to assume that @ParryAll has never played MKX before in his life if he thinks that casuals will not play a game.

I have no clue what the actual input frame delay is on the game, but that game has extremely laggy/sluggish controls built into it by design as did all of the Netherrealms games.

And that game is a casuals dream.

It’s not constant. A button press in SFV can result in anywhere from 6 frames of lag to 9. 8.X is just an average.

I am not into it, I’ve played it as in Ive picked up a controller and pressed buttons, yeah the modern MK games have laggy controls just by design, like older Tekken games. Not my thing, but I know why casuals dig MK splat boom fatality oh shit. MK has always had a bigger casual appeal going back to the originals.

Look MK isn’t my thing but MKX and XL are absolute blueprints on doing every single thing right in making a successful fighting game, and the numbers show that. They’re making money hand over fist compared to SFV. It’s got tons of single player content and attentive balance updates and they listen to their audience. The didnt launch a bare bones piece of shit and they’re not giving away their DLC for free.

I think this GIF describe the conversations going on in this thread.

Lol at 8frames being the poor sales solution

after i reach the super platinum, i am gonna retire this fucking game

From the shelves? You work at Gamestop?

General discussion about SFV’s status and quality:

We’re down to 7 frames now just like KOF with the new patch coming (PS4 controllers added an extra frame of lag). Plus we sold more than KOF XIV so we’re now the best eSports fighting game with the most overall sales other than MKX.

PARTTYYYYYY

You could fix the 8f input delay. You could balance the game even better than it is right now - even though it is really damn balanced.
You could do a lot of stuff.
And you create an abomination of a patch like the one from today. The amount of pc players complaining is just too much - and they’re right.
I don’t think SFV ever got as much hate as today, the reviews getting worse and worse.
How can you have a game with cross-platform play and screw your PC player base nearly as bad as NRS did?
It’s like Capcom tries to make as much as bad publicity as possible. Even bad publicity is publicity.
My mind is just blown. Should’ve ditched a PC version from the start and focused on a pure PS4 version.

Screw it as bad as NRS did? Seriously? Are you comparing a company that dropped entirely the (horrendous) PC port for 7 months only to came back for the cash with another one that just released a broken anti-hack tool that will probably be fixed or removed in a few days?
Honestly I have a hard time figuring out today’s PC gamers. It’s almost as if they forgot on what kind of support they were playing on.

I said nearly. And Capcom is not a saint by any means, if you have the slightest clue about SFxT and GFWL/Steam.
Hint: It’s not a beautiful story. They should now better, they did screw up in the past.
Up until this day there is no fix. There won’t be one.

I never said they were saints. But the fact that people are getting angry for an issue that is already officially acknowledged by Capcom - and they have ALL reasons to fix it asap since it literally makes the game unplayable for a lot of people - is still beyond me.

People get upset about the tiniest bit of things. Blizzard servers get DDoS’d? Oh shi-, it’s always the same story.
But this time it’s 100% the developer’s fault, it’s simply a sub-par way to fix the ongoing issues.
Players not being able to play the game they paid for have the right to complain and they should do so.
After all the (technical) problems SFV had so far, do you really expect a hotfix to arrive soonish?
Well, it would be nice, but apparently lots of people don’t it’ll happen. It would be nice.
Hoping for the best for the PC fellas, gonna keep on playing on friend’s console.

[e] Fu*k this shit, just read up on the DRM stuff… really? Are they for real?
I didn’t even know about the rootkit…

This isn’t just matches being laggy or one or two optional features missing. We’re talking about the game entirely not launching. A game that you paid 30 to 90 bucks for, simply refusing to launch on thousands of PCs because of a broken anti-hack tool. How would they not fix that?

Rootkit shit will get fixed soon. No need for tired doom and gloom.

Just the other quality of life stuff you want still won’t get fixed for a while

Took them less than 24 hours, which is totally fine.
The temp. outrage at recent steam reviews etc. will be surely forgotten (hopefully. recent 75% negative, yikes), I’m just annoyed, upset and speechless how Capcom manages to screw up to that degree, what kind of disease-ridden monkey has to bite you to think it’s an acceptable idea to install that abomination on your computer and people would be okay with it? One could be talking about the all the nice things the patch did, improving the frame delay etc. and they just keep adding fuel to the fire. For the bigger public it’s just another case of a clown fiesta. One step forward, two steps back.

No need for doom and gloom as you said, but I’m still flabbergasted.

As someone suggested, this might simply be someone up above waking up one day, seeing the SFV unlocker on the internet and telling the devs “go fix that shit as soon as possible, we want to make money”. Instead of finding a proper solution which requires time and effort, the devs just used the quickest (and most dangerous) way to protect the file.
The fact that we only got the announcement of the anti-cheat device right before the maintenance started still points at an emergency solution. I don’t think they even tried to think this all through.

I have absolutely no faith in Capcom at this point. I really thought they could turn it around, but they keep finding the best ways to shoot themselves in the foot. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the next update bricked PS4s.

That scenario isn’t impossible, ye. Poor code monkey, do your job.
Driver’s signature is from the 6th of September, 2.5 weeks ago… whelp.

Symantec now detects it as a security risk - the signature itself is from the Symantec Corporation… :v

Hoping that at least the guy(s) giving the go for that idea get what they deserve.

yea thats why casuals didnt buy the game

cuz of the input lag

soon as they fix that they’ll drop all their other laggy games like Destiny and Mortal Kombat X and come back to SFV

lol
