This guy call me a cheap motherfucker in KOF Neowave, when I use Clark. I beat his team just using Clark. I roll over someone’s fireball and catch them with the backbreaker or catch them with SDM
Freinds and I always called eachother cheap playing MY back in the day because all we did was Trip and upper cut eachother. I was called cheap for always using Spectre’s ghost missles in Twisted Metal 2.
The earliest time i can remember was when I was using Slayer in GGXX. I was bite looping, but not fast enough. The guy didn’t notice and kept trying to attack instead of mashing out of stun and jumping back. After I won he was like CHEAP ASS MOTHER FUCKER. I felt like an ass, but got over it pretty quick heh.
I showed the loop to my friend and he got all mad and told me to stop. He also said that it’s cheap. I guess it was pretty lame in XX, but Eddie was scarier to fight.
It wasn’t the first time, but I got called cheap for using Genei Jin.
Oh shit I can only chuckle when I activate Genei Jin from full screen and still hit a ender.
first time would have to be in WW while zoning with either shoto.
most recent would be with clark wakeup mixups in xi.
When I threw a dude out of a hadoken in sf2…he and the fireball made it to the left side of the screen at the same time. He never even got a chance to go into kamae no hado, he was standing next to me, you hear “Huh!” and “Hadooken” at the same time, and he went flying.
CVS2 on arcade. I won 10+ times koed at least 6 people, with a A grove / ratio 4 Bison. all I did was jump forward + HK then jump back.
after i beat my sister with in Street Fighter 2 championship edition when it came out. She then proceeded to call characters “out of order” since she rented the game and banned them from use after a while everyone was out of order so she returned the game early in anger…sad
When I used Strider/CapCom in MvC1 and nailing OTG combos and shit. Plus, Ouroboros followed by Colossus assist into Legion followed by Ragnarok for 90 hits. I was only doing what I thought was right. I think of it this way: If it saves me money and makes YOU spend more money, I ain’t playing cheap. I’m playing to win.
Also in CvS1 when I was using EX Terry. Some dude called me cheap because I rushed his shit down and Guard Crushed him in like 7 hits followed by Level 3 Bustah Wolf. All I could tell the guy was “Are you OK!?”
Damn, can’t remember the first time, but here are a few I get a lot:
-Using the DF with Paul(T5)
-Air grab with Taki(SC3)
-Picking ChunLi at ALL(3s)
-Using GP moves and butterfly traps with Anji(GGXX#r)
-Doing TFT combos with Kage(VF4ft)
Today I got bitched at for actually getting Anji’s 63214+s GP move to work on a regular basis, using 6hs no less. That and getting a lot of butterfly traps to work.
SF2 WW/CE - Ryu/Ken crouch LKx2, throw, rinse, repeat
Picking Akuma in ST

Back when MK2 was big in the Arcades I hussled money from the locals for awhile. Liu Kang was the man of choice. If played right he was so broken in MK2. After awhile when people got my groove i’d witch it up and go Rep. or Jax. to mix it up a little. Hold down LK + ff’s rocked your world Plus his cheese ass 3 hit combo that took 50% of your life… omg loved Liu Kang.
SF2: Vega wall dives. For some reason, no one knew how to do them back then where I lived.
When I did like an 80% combo with King in KoF94, or 95, don’t remember, too long ago…
any time i do the iron man rejump infinite against scrubs.
Getting your ass kicked in MVC2 by a skilled player and waiting at the right momement when their assist is out to bust out a 3 man super that does 100+ hits and shit loads of damage from pressing two buttons at once.
when i was a kid using bisons c.rh over and over.
Someone calling another person cheap is a cause for concern. The fun evaporates.
I had a similar situation at S.F. Japan Bowl. X-Men vs SF- me using Geif & Rogue for 20+ wins, even w/them hitting my start button (really ugly).
I eventually walked away, because they wouldn’t stop challenging me, were stressful to be around, and I would not give them a win undeserved or unearned.
It ended w/the group following me outside & mugging me (of $10) at knifepoint. Since then, that dive has closed and I’m very aware of who/when/where arcade-wise (though I rarely go).
I wanted to play a friend in third so I just parried and threw this guy the entire fight. he got really mad and called me cheap. I told him to practice.
I don’t remeber the circumstances but the first time I was called cheap was when playing karate champ against a friend.
also anytime I got the dust loop or bite loop off against anyone not knowing of it.
