When I got 20 Wins against a group of junior high punks in MSHvSF. It would’ve been more but they left. I was using Omega Red/Shuma and they just couldn’t get around a) Red’s jumping Fierce and b) the fact that ZOMG I blocked their launchers, which is pretty much all they knew how to do (about half of them used Ryu/Akuma).
About mid-way through a couple of them started asking me, in a polite yet desperate manner, to “please stop being cheap.” I laughed. Another guy gave me a threatening glare. I laughed harder.
Now that you mentioned it, I’ve been called “cheap” or “cheating” in MSF when I use Blackheart. But it was ironic, since some of the complainants were Wolvie users. :F
Yeah WTF is up with that? Isn’t Wolvie like top tier in that game? MAAAAAAAAAAAAN. I remember when I used to pick DAN (who sucked despite the freakishly damaging Shinkuu Gadouken) and own noobs who did Wolvie’s infinites and I get called cheap!? Yeah whatever. :rolleyes:
Hmm…to memory the only time I got a guy PISSED at me was in CvS2.
He played the classic turtle (Level 2) Guile…backing up into his corner and throwing Sonic Booms.
I had (Level 1)Todo and just started stuffing his booms with the Kasane Ate (:qcf+P:).
I think I stuffed like 8 in a row before he got PISSED. So to avoid being “cheap”, I started rolling through the booms and throwing his ass. When that made him even madder, I backed up and let him get out of the corner only to finish him off with some f+MK sweeps.
when regular mk3 just came out at a movie theater here i figured out how to abuse the ancient mk tactic of “throw->run towards->throw again->run towards again, repeat.” i would do it with either cyrax or kabal.
nobody knew how to stop being thrown back then and cyrax’s throw in regular mk3 did sooo much damage and is sooo easy to do it with. they would die in like 5 throws.
i owned some old hispanic guy with that cheese and he pushed me to the ground. i was like 11 then so naturally that’s pretty messed up. movie workers kicked him and his 2 kids out of the theater.
I don’t remember the first time since I hear complaints alot.

Probably the greatest and most recent is from 3S, my friend complains behind my back “Ryu is over powered!” Funny thing is, he only plays Ken. Oh and he’ll still make these complaints when he plays as Dan (one of his favorite characters.)
There were a number of times I’ve been called cheap, but one time when I really pissed some one off was in CvS2 at Otakon a few years ago.
This one guy was playing like C-ISM Shin Gouki, Gouki, and Rugal against my N-Groove “Garou Team” (Terry, Rock, Joe). It didn’t really take much to wear his whole team down just using a combination of Joe’s Hurrican Upper, Massive amounts of throw (or hold in Joe’s case), and simply countering every time he jumped in at me with either a Screw Upper or a his L. 3 Double Upper. I kept doing this same crap to him for 3 re-matches, and he never even got past Joe.
After that, he got frustrated, left with the dude he was rolling with, and basically muttered something along the lines of how “I was so cheap”, and whatever. How a guy who was playing some of those characters was not able to do anything amounting to something simplistic like escaping my cheese throws and some junk is beyond me…
This crazy muthafucka at CTF called me a bitch in 3rd strike the other day. He was turtling and so I just threw him around. I thought that complaint was over after the SF2 days.
i actually dont mind being called cheap, so i dont really remember the first time thats happened…its those steroid rages that i remember…
i don’t mess with the silly stuff like trying to beat a masher with 1 move or doing grabs the whole round…its a race against the clock for me…i just flat out own them…its usually pretty funny when those mofos start yelling at the top of their lungs HOW IN THE HELL IS HE GETTING THROUGH MY BLOCK!!! and HE DOES THAT SAME FUCKING COMBO OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!! but once they go for my personal favorite, IF HE DOES THAT SHIT ONE MORE TIME I SWEAR TO GOD IM GONNA!!! cue evil glance in my direction its about time for me to let them get some hits in i cant count the number of times i’ve had to tone down on whooping someones ass in a videogame so they dont try to whoop my ass in real life
for me it was when i first used 'sim on ww, fireball standing forward owned scrubs for free back then. i also got called cheap withthe old throw, low roundhouse mixup. the funniest however was when there controller didnt register down back, SWEEPS FOR DAYS!
remembering my friends laughing there asses off still makes me chuckle inside:
