lol I was just about to use the search function myself… beat me to it.
Problem is, not cooking it thoroughly gives you chance of staph, salmonella and/or tapeworms. That’s why I just don’t eat steaks in general.
About grilled chicken/fish being unhealthy:
This is certainly interesting, especially considering that people all over the world, esp. in the Mediterranean regularly girl/roast their food and have low incidences of any cancer for thousands of years. I think contributing factors like obesity are combined with the high HCA levels, which is why in Western countries we have greater risk overall.
Not really though, the omega 3s in fish fight cancer and do all sorts of other good things. Red meat, well… there is nothing good for you in it when it comes to fighting disease and it’s far worse for you in the colon cancer department, and people tend to cook it till it’s brown, well, idiots do.
This isn’t true anymore, it was back in the day but we’ve put measures in place to solve that. Now the only excuse for eating well cooked meat is being too poor to afford quality meat products, in which case you shouldn’t be eating them at all, being trailer trash, or just not knowing any better.
Raw fish with high omega 3s, green vegetables, fruits, the list goes on.
Well… they consume less meat than we do, namely red meats, and eat a whole metric ton of seafood and other items that actively fight cancer.
You also know that red meat and our diet are directly linked to obesity? People get put on our diet and their health gets massively worse, and they get fat.
This is really a national problem where our behaviors and our diet put us at massive risk for all sorts of nonsense that other groups don’t suffer from. But people don’t want to give that sort of thing up.
People that engage in gay sex and intravenous drug use lead the charts nation wide. Outside of that, it varies from city to city. In some cases prostitution is bad as well. Also avoid having sex in Africa or India, Thailand is also up there.
You want the US city data? NIH has that, it’s public information.
I just saw an article on this and thought to myself, wait wasn’t there already an SRK thread on this? Turns out I already posted in it. Haha, and I was gonna make a new thread too. Here’s another article: http://nymag.com/health/features/aids-cure-2011-6/
It sounds like the dude really doesn’t have HIV anymore, they’ve run multiple more tests on him, all negative. The gist of it was a stem cell transplant of a dude who had a mutation:
To make that available to the public…

So it sounds like it could definitely help. Its not a guarantee though, since from the article it sounds like CCR5 doesn’t provide 100% immunity. And I’m sure HIV can mutate and bypass it eventually anyway. Really, gays need to stop having anal sex with every gay dude in sight, and thai hookers need to stop hooking.
Gays can fuck who they want, they just need to stop being stupid about it. Being with a guy for a few months is not reason enough to stop using protection. Oral, fine, but everything else should be protected. Yes, it is not fair that Heterosexuals can usually take one test before marriage and then be fine but they do not have the transmission rates that Homosexuals have. Every person that know with HIV got it from a cheating boyfriend. I will never trust anyone that much. If that leaves me without a deep meaningful relationship, Fuck It.
I’ve done studies and wrote a paper on molecular HIV a few years ago. A mutation in the CCR5 receptor has long been known to be somewhat protective against HIV due to lower transmission rate or incidence (can’t remember which) in those populations. It’s not a vital receptor for HIV, but it does definitely help the virus get into the Th-cells. This is a great advancement in an in-vivo result however.
Anyhow, get tested if you can’t keep your pants on.
If partner is unwilling, it says more about trust than anything.
Stop sleeping around. Hepatitis B giving you liver cancer is more common and almost as scary as HIV.
Lower on the list are the many STIs. Seriously, everyone worries about HIV when it is one of the least common infections you can get.
I think you’re looking at that “classic” (Which was a remake of Vincent Price’s “Last Man on Earth”) with rose tinted glasses. That movie is TERRIBLE and it hasn’t aged well at all. The Will Smith version was okay for a one time viewing, but I think “The Last man on Earth” was the best out of the three and it was the most faithful to the book.
As for the AIDS “cure”, unless you’re rich or have one hell of an insurance carrier, this doesn’t apply to most people in this forum. Keep that in mind before you stick your meat stick into some meth skank’s twat.
Except you can’t tell the difference between the zoo that thrives in a meth skank from the guy/girl next door.
If guys stop thinking with the ‘other head’ sometimes, we’d have less STIs. Realtalk.
True, but I was referring to guys who would be willing to fuck an obvious high risk female if they believed a cure was available. Personally I don’t care if they find a cure for every STD on earth and gave it away for free, I still wouldn’t get near some meth-ridden super skank. Have some standards, people.
Until you get really sick, from, like, the flu, and that shit weakens you to the point where HIV can bust out, get a foothold, and wreck your shit like a normal person.
I think it odd all the talk about a bunch of movies that completely miss the point of the book. The endings in all of them are all wrong. (kinda like a clockwork orange, but that was actually a good movie, even if it misses the point of the book) The will smith one was at least a little entertaining. The Charlton Heston one was seriously terrible.
