EDIT Okay guys! I’m finally editing my first post the way I should’ve done awhile ago. Most of you probably already seen my part in the mag but I’ll be adding the links here to the blog spot with the download links. In addition to that, I’ll also post up the cover art for each issue of the comic. So I’ll do that right now with this and the link.
Hey guys, I’ve been itching to post some art on here for awhile so I hope you’ll enjoy my stuff.
This image is one I tried to submit to the SFTribute contest but wasn’t accepted as one of the winners :sad: but at least I’m free to post it up! I’ll also post my Blanka drawing that I also tried to submit to the contest later.
I can’t believe they didn’t accept it. The sense of emotion it conveys his expression perfectly fits the character. If you just had Pootnanies HD turtle in there, it would be awesome. His Oro is great too, though yours is emotionally evoking.
Not to be that much of an ass, but I saw some of the work that made it and I’m wondering why some SRK art never got in. MAybe the art I saw was from 5 yr olds and they were picked bc the kids were young
:u: Yeah, I think I know which piece you’re talking about. I seen one and thought to myself, “They were taking in some chibi-looking pieces.” which was something I hoped they woud’ve avoided, unless it was an epic piece [i.e. lotta of 'em on one art piece and doing something cool].
Not to be rude but, alot of people at Udon are annoyed by people saying things like that. Just because some people don’t get in, they think up of weird conspiracies instead of admitting that they just didn’t get in.
This only means that most of the art in the book is going to be amazing. Although a couple samples on the site looked bad.
Thanks a lot. Honestly, I didn’t think “noble” until you mentioned it. The thought I had in mind when drawing was “contemplation”, though both words could be used to describe the same thing.
I understand what you’re saying there. But I think it’s because I didn’t have much, if any, background to my drawings. Just because I can draw good anatomy, doesn’t mean that I’ll be a shoe in. I can understand some of their (Udon’s) decisions with certin art that got in. They were looking for a diversity of style and interpritations and mine just couldn’t make the cut with some of the other, better versions of my style.
haha, I seriously concidered the turtle. I do need to draw that in there with my next Oro drawing.
This was one of my latest works so it’s one of the better ones. My current Devart page doesn’t have any art on it, but my old one does (though I’ve neglected it for a while now)
Alright guys, here are some more of my drawings. Some were done awhile ago, as you can see by some of the dates (06) so there may be a few things here and there that arn’t correct in them that I can notice now.
First up, lets go with Ryu.
And lastly, the SF3 Girls. The last one I tried to submit to the SFTribute contest. Though I know why and theres still things that can be fixed up in it. I need to work on doing a better all of them.
Thats about all of my SF art. I’m working on a new one but my scanner broke. So it might take me awhile to get it scanned and colored to show you guys. Until next time! :hp:
Looks great! And for the reasons you mentioned on why you didn’t get in, I completely agree, thats what likely happened. However doesn’t change the fact your stuff in awesome ;), I’ll be watching you O_O
I agree! Makoto is my favorite fighter of choice in SF3rd and I really should draw her some more. I just need to figure a good pose for her~ Mayhaps I’d do one of those new fangled “HD Sprite” work thats in the other thread.
Rockin the socks is what I enjoy.
Then I’ll have to draw another Makoto for the both of you!
Yeah, I figured Bison died with Akuma cracking him in the nuts. XD ( I can make fun of my own art in retrospect )
Thanks! Oro is my close second in SF3rd and I’m really good with him. I’ve gotten to the point where I can now parry by anticipating my opponents next move. I’m just glad I can do some sort of justice to Oro, the man of gold.
Really? Wow, thanks! The only thing I’d change in the drawing is the pointy ears since he’s supposed to be human.
I know, I know. After drawing so many dudes it’s hard for me to switch over to draw the finer sex. But enough with the excuses! I’ll be working on my girl drawing skill, sound good?

you have some really nice drawings here. i see a couple things that are off though. ryu’s arms look too big for his body size and your female characters in the beach image seem a bit stiff.
but the good definitely weigh out the bad. i love how you’re not afraid to tackle any facial expression and that blanka image is badass.

Yeah, I could tell you even more things that are off in my drawings. Like they say, hindsight is 20/20. You’ll have to forgive my Ryu one, he’s from 06. I could’ve/should’ve left him off from my post I suppose.
The girls on the beach one was nuts. I wanted more movement and action but it’s not really my strong point, though I wanted to try anyway. It took me the better part of 14 hours to do that drawing. That wouldn’t be so bad but that was actually 14 hours in a row… XD From start to finish, from sketch lines to painting. I started with Elena (the face was impossible for me to get right) and ended with Ibuki (which out of the three looks the worst to me because I was running low on stamina) On the plus side, I learned how to use the Ink tool in photoshop from all that. I promise that I’ll work on making my drawings more fluid instead of stiff.
Thanks for the complament about the facial expression. XD You gave me a complament sammich. Start with the good, then talk about what you need to work on and finish with something good. Makes the critique that much easier to take and I enjoy it ever-so-much to know in what direction I need to work on. But back to the facial thing, it’s my current trend to work with more facial expression in each drawing. Practice makes perfect, yah?
