I just unfroze my psp after months of it hibernating on my desk, and well I just wanted to know if there are any fighting games worth buying for the psp? I dont have enough money to get a 2 gig memory stick as of now. So just putting an Emu on it and downloading a bunch of fighting games is out of the question. If there was already a thread on this I’m sorry, I searched and searched but couldn’t find any. I looked on random websites and the only thing I could find is Tekken and the “capcom collectibles” but it doesnt say if it has street fighter on it. Can anybody help?
DR on psp is a decent port, if you like Tekken then it’s worth the buy and is a good game in general.
The PSP besides that has GGXX#R (standalone or packaged with the US GG Judgement), GGXX/ (packaged with the Japanese version of GG Judgement), Vampire Chronicle, SFA3MAX, and the Capcom Collections.
Get a 1Gb Memory, they run for, like $50, and the cps2 emu (MvC/DDSoM = woot!) runs like a charm.
Other than that I would recommend GGJ/GGXX#R and SFA3Max.
Judgement is a nice addition as even if it’s a gimmick it has a good storyline and the difficulty is quite high, so when you get bored of the regular fighting, you have something to do. My only problem with this one is that it doesn’t have a mission mode, which was what I played the most on the PS2.
And A3 runs pretty well, they added tons of modes like World Tour, Dramatic and Reverse Dramatic which considering you won’t be playing with more people most of the time give the game a lot of replay value. Besides, they added Eagle, Yun and Maki to the rooster.
Does anyone know how faithful these ports are to the arcades? (framecount/values/etc…)
I second that. cps2psp is an emulator that allows you to run capcom games from SFII and its reincarnations to Alpha, to MvC (excluding 2nd gen. like MvC2 & 3S). Also, there’s the mvspsp emulator which runs a madd amount of KoF, Samurai Showdown, and other shit. Peep the link for more info (may need a login).
Ive had every fighter on the psp except powerstone and GG. I got tired of all the games except tekken DR so that would be the one to get, Ive had it since the first day it came out and I havent stoped playing it…and Im not even a fanboy I played tekken 3 back in the day but thats it and I wasnt even good at it.
its just fun starting with a new character learnin new juggles and so on my best record is with dragunov 245 wins 22 losses, I loose a few against friends but since its trhough gamesharing the losses wouldnt count.
Piracy for life. Turn your PSP into a badass emulator machine and you’ll have access to all the CPS 1/2 fighting games and obviously the Neogeo too.:lovin:
WTF thats awesome! I’ve been looking for that game here for cheap for soooo long! I have yet to find it under about $35 USED. Definitely gonna order that bad boy asap, thanks dude!
I would say the game plays like a mixture of Darkstalkers (lots of chain attacks) and Guilty Gear (each character has a “dust” like move that leads into an air combo). Four attack buttons (3 upper body attacks ranging from light-hard and a kick button). The d-pad is more forgiving like GG games on PSP too. Ten characters to choose from and the boss is a beast
The only time you notice loading is the actual loading screen at he beginning of the game. Other than that, very little to no loading at all in between matches. You have to see it to believe.
It’s worth checking out if your looking for an alternative to the common PSP fighters.
I’m running SS5 Spec on my psp and it runs perfectly, and I also have LB2 on it. Yes, I do have original MVS carts…
SvG is a nice game for 15 dollars, honestly, not much more than 20 is what I would spend on it. It’s a good casual game, seriously not good enough for tournament play though.
Anyone know how good that Mai-Hime 3d fighter is? My friend’s getting it for my birthday.
