Fighting games for psp?

I only can play SS4 and smaller MVS games on my PSP since my comp can’t make cache files for the bigger roms. I guess my comp is too old or something.

I want to play SS5 Spec, SVC, and Garou on my PSP so bad.

Pretty much.

Now if the d-pad wasn’t as shit as it actually is. This thread would actually have some use. If you can get your hands on one of those Alpha3/DR stick-on d-pads it’s apparently good though. If not, get use to not being able to do qcf’s consistently in ST.

Have DR on my PSP, which is hella fun, except for a lack of competition. There’s some d-pad issues but far less than you’d have playing some of the 2d fighters.

Has anyone found any decent solution to the d-pad problems yet?

You could always mod the d-pad yourself using this D-Pad Mod Link. It has gotten rave reviews from PSP users on the net.

spectral vs generation is a

i really hate this game and considering that it came out last year and the quality and presentation is so fucking poor

Not good…

LMAO. I had no idea the game was that broken. So I can be as cheap as the boss if I wanted to

The infinities are a little more difficult to perform than that video makes it look. Honestly, it’s like doing a Magneto reset/ #R Dust Loop…

Why can I say this? I made the combo video with The Badguy.

it has a wax/resin that sticks on, you can get residue off with nail polish remover if you ever want to take it off.

Iron Claw: I’ll try the game, and thanks a lot for the link, definetly gonna give it a shot.

Isn’t the PS2’s D-Pad roughly the same size as the PSP one? I don’t have a controller here, but I’ll check when I get home, maybe something could get done like that.

***tajiri***Thanks too, if the mod doesn’t work I’ll try to get ahold of one of those.

Does anyone have any more mod projects for the PSP?

The PS2’s D-Pad is about the same size as the PSP one. The problem with the PSP is that the D-Pad is too low so when you playing fighters your diagonal inputs and complex moves will be off. With the link I provided, you’re basically raising it higher.

If you look at a PS2 controller, you’ll notice the D-Pad’s height difference compared to PSP.

Heh, what I was thinking was if I could fit the PS2 pad into the PSP, but it’s too big.

Its absolutely terrible. You can walk around just fine, you have a jump button, and attack button in which you can only do one of two attacks from it, a projectile button where you can only do one of two projectiles i believe, and then your super. If theres any more to the game then that, i dont remember it, but theres no special moves, etc. Its more “OMG IM USING MAI HIME CHARACTERS IN A FIGHTING GAME!!”

The second one has a crap ton of costumes and characters though so it cant be ALL that bad…

I did that mod for my PSP the day after I got it along with Alpha 3 the day the game came out. It works pretty well, but you can use a slightly thicker material than they suggest. there’s just a point where if it’s too thick, pressing on the d-pad makes it press all over or presses on the d-pad without pressure. I used some cardboard from a PC game case (XIII was my victim XD) and an identical cut of normal printing paper. Works like a fucking charm.

You can put PSX games on your PSP now too, so if you ever feel like Rival Schools or some other PSX fighting game that ever came out, that’ll keep you happy.

Yeah, Rival Schools looks f’n sweet on the PSP screen. If you have the latest custom firmware, the PSX games can be compressed by as much as 200MB too.
