Fighting Games: Bottom of the Barrel

At least half of the games in this thread seem mediocre and dated at worst.

Whereas Slaughter Sport is seriously like an alpha version of Shaq Fu…

I’d say Eternal Champions, but probably because i was so disappointed in it. The idea behind it seemed so cool and even the graphics and such weren’t too bad for the time. But once I got my hands on the game…eugh! Shame cuz that could have been a pretty tight game.

That game looks sick! …

… Motion sick!! HEYOOOOO

A 3D fighter/porn game which failed at both game types. There’s vitually no spacing, everything is plus on block, and there’s no real juggle system, you do all your combos via the canned combos in the game. You really have to try and play this Piece of shit to understand how bad it is. also the graphics are shitty, the music is shitty, and the whole concept is shitty. Even the porn aspects of the game are pretty shitty. One really has to wonder who the game was developed for, because there are easier ways to get porn, and better fighting games out there.

The sequal is better (and went from being an awful tekken style porn game to an awful soul calibur 2 style porn game), but is also an amazingly shitty game.

Why do I know this? I had to play them on a bet. Never again…

Meh as others have said, too many people using thread as an excuse to take potshots at modern fighters. For all the things I find annoying about the MK series in general I’m not going to say here that it’s the worst series ever in the history of fighting games (which is exactly what this thread is about: the worst fighting games) because that’s just my opinion and better gamers than I think it’s a good series.

Now… worst fighting game. Just some random ps2/gc DBZ fighting game? Or Naruto?

But it’s the current fighters that are overhyped pieces of ass.

Def Jam Icon…gutter trash.

And you’d seriously take the HORRIBLE games listed here (and many others out there) over AE and MvC3? There’s plenty of games I’d rather play than those (3s, KOF, CvS2 and ST come to mind) but way to go bro, you’ve just said that Shaq-fu’s better than all of Capcom’s recent games.

Well the main thing that people don’t like about the new games is just the total accessibility of them. That’s like the number one complaint from the local players in my area also. They feel you get too much reward for not knowing enough about how a fighting game actually works. Which if you’re an old man that’s used to the old man games that’s understandable but it’s just the way games play now. Doesn’t mean there’s no work involved in high level play it’s just there’s more incentive for people who don’t have 10 years of fighting game knowledge to get in and do something.

Let me ask you, when did Overhyped or Overrated and bad or horrible become synonymous?

This.
I never said they’re BAD, except in a joking context. They’re fun for what they are… but I don’t take them seriously at all…
In fact, I’m playing AE right now… which is FAR better than SSF4, btw… But vanilla is still better than both of them.

Shitty random camera angles, A overpowered (Paragon) was pretty braindead and random, shallow fighting system, some of the most random environments system in a fighting game, beyond terrible story mode, and a god awful audio.

Generally by the time you finish the game, there isn’t much to do. The story mode is awful, and the story is even worse. The game has a little depth and freedom, and there is no way that you should be playing this shit in a casual level. The problem with the combat is the explosions, they are random and do ridiculous damage. The explosions can cause random ring outs, and you could lose match ups to them. The final unlockable stage is awful, too much shit was going on to see what was happening.

The fighting system is ridiculously boring, and repetitive. You had little options to create variety with you’re attacks, combos were ridiculous linear in options. Most character play too similar, some character have options better than weaker characters. One of the interesting concept of the game was making the game play like they would play in the comics. The problem was that EA made certain characters too shallow, and play the same way. Instead of vastly changing the roster’s gameplay, EA gave characters different levels of super strength and durability(health). Basically, many of the best characters had the same, but superior options. Magneto needed to waste meter moving a tank, while Iron Man could pick up a tank with no meter with…virtually no weaknesses. Certain characters were just better and could do anything the cast had to offer.

The Finisher could end matches, they were unblockable, you don’t have to have low health either. All your oppotent could do is run, and you can’t run against better characters in the game. In additions, finishers didn’t have anything start up at all.So you could force your opponent to block something, and kill by the moment you input the finisher button. It was Random was fuck, and there was nothing you can do to stop it. Environmental Explosions make it EASY for people to abuse this system. It didn’t matter if you won or lose, you could lose a match the instant your health is in condition for a finisher. Finally the rage system was bad system because it made so that the winner could curb stomp the loser. The Winner basically gets infinite meter for a multiple seconds, and you had no really way to combat it.

The reason why Paragon was stupid in that game was because she could set up a fucking cluster fuck of explosions like in that video at once. You couldn’t stop it, you are force to use your defensive power to cancel the explosion. They were the most powerful projectiles in the game, and they cover a clunk of the entire 3D axis. The entire cast in the game had no answer to shit, but run the fuck away. The clusterbomb move would trigger other explosions in the envioment, and it would do all kinds of random shit to happen. Other explosion like trucks, tanks, flying pillers, etc do crazy damage. Explosion causing ring outs made her unbeatable in certain stages like Daily Bagle.

Paragon had the stupidest fatality system ever create in a fighting game on her side, and Paragon could kill you in seconds because you got hit by cars, lampost, and explosions. This is ignoring that she fucks the camera, and she basically had no weakness. There is also absolutely stupid wake up moves for Paragon that you couldn’t beat. Combine this with random terrible camera shots, bugs, glitches…you have a shitty game. Like I said you could not play this game even causally. I sold this game after I beat it…

lol i thought u were talking about DOA for second

That’s exactly what I thought!

Funny thing is I’ve always considered that series to be exactly that, albeit with fewer bugs. Considering how every console DOA game for a while now has been a volleyball game that’s really just a creepy gawkfest I guess they decided to break down the gameplay down to that game’s basics.

Super Turbo. Super meter as well as other nuanced changes basically sapped all the strategy and thought out of an otherwise good game. SF has been dead ever since then, even if it’s very slowly been climbing out of that shithole.

heh, I used to play that regularly with a buddy, we used to really like it, I’m struggling to remember why…

Really? That game had a massive following, I loved it. Granted it was pretty unforgiving on execution for the time, but it was a great game. I much preferred playing SFII on my SNES to be fair, but what didn’t you like about it?

Go back to playing Chess.

Worst that I know of? Kabuki Warriors.
Worst that I’ve ever played? Street Fighter II.

I was really disappointed by the Primal Rage SNES port; I liked the game itself, but this version was censored, and just didn’t have the power of the arcade source material.

Probably because of how fucked up the game could get once you brought guns into play.

@INCIDENT: I’ve played that with a friend while we were mashed and it was so lulzy, but never worth playing more than once. Do you (or anyone) know if it was a pirate only thing or if it was essentially an indie project?
