And, call me crazy, but I love good old Street Fighter 2 stuff still.
I love the SF2 soundtrack. Absolutely nothing beats Guile’s stage, with Ken’s coming in a close second. Honorably mention goes to Alpha 2 and Guilty Gear (All of them really, killer soundtracks).

Cyberbots holds a special place for me. I love Helion’s theme to death. Gaits’ theme is also good as well.
Guilty Gear is pretty well represented here for good reason. It rocks out loud.
Seriously, its a damn shame they keep Justice out of the game proper with a theme as FREAKIN’ AWESOME as Meet Again. (The ASH version from Disc 8 of the soundtrack compilation pack is probably my favorite version). Oh well I have hope Accent Core will change things . . .
The original Marvel vs. Capcom has some great tracks, Spider-Man’s, Jin’s, Strider’s, and Morrigan’s in particular.
Darkstalkers 3’s individual tracks for each character were pretty damn good too. Zabel’s theme, B.B. Hood’s theme, and Jedah’s theme are among the best.

Any of the Guilty Gear stuff I’ve heard. I am also a huge fan of the classic and “newer” SF stuff. But I am a HUUUGE sucker for Nintendo music. Most notably Super Smash Bros. Melee (Minus the kirby/yoshi stages).
The Mortal Kombat movie soundtracks have some really good songs on there.
Any Power Metal or Techno (depends) is also great music to play too.

I’ll also go on to mention that the MVC2 Character Select, (gonna take you for a ride) is the most annoying shit ever. PERIOD.
