Fighting game lingo you find annoying

go die for your user title

GODLIKE!

also no good, people who think they’re masters of satire.

People who use fighting game lingo outside of fighting games.

“Logic FADC conclusion”?

Say word, that’s what we’re on?

What ever happened to the good 'ol douchebaggery of “QED”?

agreed, my problem with “technologies” is that the term doesn’t really fit what its being used for. All it really is, is a new style of gameplay, new stragedies, new gameplans. If people were using those terms instead of “technology” then it wouldn’t bother me.

most people don’t even know what QED means.

I was just wondering about that and that second sentence of theirs in general.

Sure does, along with fuzzy block or some other garbadge. A lot of these thing just seem to be made up on the fly so some people could seem they know what they are talking about when they can’t explain it.

If you don’t play KoF in Mexico, they take away your sombrero, your SOMBRERO GODDAMIT! What’s next, ponchos? Curly mustaches? The freedom and right to run and jump over fences in the north?

It’s funny you mention this in response to a post about footsies. I’ll bet most people who know the term can’t give you an original explanation of what footsies are, or any explanation whatsoever. For a long time I though it just meant doing damage without combos, and it seems I’m not the only one. I still see plenty of people advising other players to play with only your normals to build up footsies ability, which doesn’t make any sense to me.

cash battle, 4 stocks, no items, FD only, metaknight is banned

you guys take fgs too seriously

lol

That one actually physically assaults me and the smash players I know call them money matches so … think that just might be some mentally ill 12 year old talking.

Also I dislike how since SFIV people have been content to use the name of moves rather then the notation when scripting out combo’s. When I have to read a dante combo I know the notations and what they look like, but fuck remembering the name of each of his moves.

Technology is stupid term

Tactics, strategy, techniques

Good words. Fuck why not call them stractics?

From what I remember, SF community has always tended not to spell out the motion in favor of move names. Spelling out the entire notation is more prevalent in communities that use number notation which, by the way, annoys the shit out of me.

Back in 2006 when I joined you typically had your number notation or your QCF, QCB,HCF,HCB,cr.,f.,b. basically “abbreviation notation” for lack of a better term to describe it. Names of actual moves is a newer thing.

I need to know who made the term “stay free” common online. I just beat this guy 8 times in a row in UMvC3, he beats me once, then I beat him 2 more times and leave the room because I won 10 matches, then he tells me to stay free.

Do people even know what this means anymore?

From my experience the term “bodied” was a Gears term. You get into a shotty battle and usually it looked like your character ran through the other’s body when you got the kill because of the wallbouncing and whatnot. Kind of annoys me when people use it in fighting games.

Swag needs to leave immediately. Swaggety Sweeze, Swagneto, etc puke

Oh, and “baited” in the BlazBlue vids I used to watch. Literally everything was a bait to DacidBro.

Yipes can say whatever he wants.

Here’s one:

ahem

Fierce kick.

I recall some of the old guides or write-ups would occasionally use DP or SPD or TK, move names are just an extension of those.
