Trying to explain nuances on SRK? Who are you?
It is misused a lot which is WHY it’s annoying. It’s literally like people now using broken for characters just being well rounded/effective/high tier.
Nop. You find it annoying(the way the word is used, not the term itself) because it is misused. An annoying term would be something like “DERP” which doesn’t mean shit, is overused and generally has better ways of describing whater the hell the user is describing
“That’s overpowered, nerf it”
Alot of the time it’s not the meme itself, but the stream monsters who run it into the ground. I was at SB4 when the morton’s thing really kicked off, and it was pretty entertaining. They convinced Daigo to give someone a box of salt after winning, and even half the players where like “salty?”
another example is just the fact that anything interesting is “OP” and needs to be patched. Phoenix Wright for instance. If you put balance at a higher priority than fun you just end up with SF4.
Vortex (mainly because it became known/widely used when SFIV came out; and that’s the LAST game that should make that phrase popular)
Real Estate (seriously?)
Technology
Anime
To be fair, I think the only people who wouldn’t find the word “derp” annoying would be those who could describe themselves with the very same term.
Gravity squeeze!

I absolutely despise stream monster lingo (like that 4 95 or kappa or whatever shit. STUPID SHIT SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY)
And the overuse of the word “exposed”
Pretty much everything stream monsters do
Haha! You niggas clearly have no swag.
However, it’s okay.
The Based God still loves you.
Woop!
happy birthday – seriously, did someone who happen to get both of his characters hit at the same time have a birthday on that day?
It just makes no sense to me. I’d be cool with just calling it a two-for-one, or if you want to mix it up something like “___ just ordered off the value meal”. I don’t see how happy birthday fits into the scenario.
Wow, I can’t believe no one brought up the word “spam”. I get messages all the time from people claiming I “spammed” them because I was doing ABC combos on them.
This is in Umvc3, by the way.
It’s very overused; sometimes it seems that James and David are ending every sentence with it.
The white boy Norcal commentators who feel the need to imitate MvC2 Yipes; Magus saying ‘scoops’ is like an old lady saying ‘radical’, it just makes you flinch.
funniest one is “mexican uppercut”
I just don’t see why this dumb sounding hip hop lingo has to be a part of fighting games. I cant think of one game besides 3S that would inspire it.
The rest are debatable. Some sound silly, some don’t technically make sense but none of them make me cringe quite like the “yo nigga he just owned yo ass!” I’m just not sure which kind I hate more the “swag” group or the “herp derp” people. Couldn’t we speak in regular English as we usually do with a few words like “footsies” or “spacing” to make sure we don’t have to say “he’s really preventing (name) from hitting him up close”.
MvC2 doesn’t come to mind?
With all the super heroes and Japanese video game characters? Not really.
You clearly don’t understand black people.
This just got interesting! How does this work out?
