Great work JayWANG, JS Master, Vince, Dinoz, Emily Gerjay, Davero, Teddy, Nagata, and everyone else who contributed, and helped run what was possibly Toronto’s greatest local tournament to date. Everyone pitched in, everyone helped, everyone had a good time. Good fucking job GTASF.

sorry to be a dick, but tourny should have had stricter rules. Mr Trite pausing in my game should have been a DQ, or a least a restart, and JS taking a break before the final round of the game, just because Gerjay is a superior player and dude needed to think and get out of the pressure… seriously, no matter what anyone says, thats BULL-FECKIN-SHIT.
You should’ve said something to me or Vince at the time, its just like a broken stick, if it’s broken come to the people running it immediately and not after the match is over.

Anyway, since EX_Matt was kind enough to spot me on something that isn’t making me very sleepy, but want to listen to Daft Punk and write about Street Fighter IV after participating in a tournament for 13 straight hours. On only 10 wings, a beer, and cups and cups of water.
Anyway I’ll be doing a thorough write up on each of the pics and who everyone is and why I took pictures of them. These are guys I put in the center of the sub-culture of Street Fighter in the city of GTA. They are the most visible on these forums and at events. That’s guys like Nagata, Desi, Teddy, Gerjay, CQ, and Team STC. These guys all deserve our respect. I’ve only started playing SF fairly recently, but I love playing it. The competition these guys organize and put in the same room is perfect for a sponge like me. I honestly believe that having to play these guys and get beaten to a pulp by them helped me a lot.(And pretty much everyone else. I finished tied for 49th at the Brawl tourny at Bleeker and tied for 9th in the team tourny.) JDK_Mark also was on my team that tournament and for anyone who saw him play today, the dude probably could’ve carried us a lot farther by himself. I want to say that although I didn’t finish top 10 which is what I had as a goal for myself since I picked up Honda last month, this result for me was damn satisfying. Going from the bottom to tied for 13th I believe with Honda in a 92 MAN STREET FIGHTER IV BRACKET, is huge for me. But even huger is Mark’s leap as well to I believe top 5 for sure. (Ugh, can’t remember results now, thanks a lot EX_Matt). Since he didn’t have a copy of the game until last week I believe, Mark and I have been playing that Honda vs. Ryu match up a lot at my place. Really putting in those hours just playing the game and really understanding what works and what doesn’t. It helped me figure shit out and the fact that we both finished that highly essentially only being able to play each other and ScithDeath, and Mr. Trite was big. The Sauga box crew are on TEAM BOX as well but they never send me invites and we seem to go on at different times.
But going back to the tournament before I get to some of the shoutouts. JS Master is a beast. Nothing more needs to be said about that. Gerjay has sadly kept Sauga’s winless streak against STC in 4 intact. But he is also fucking beast. Nothing more needs to be said about that either. And I fucking hate Balrog.
On the subject of HD, the small but very dedicated community came out and some of the best names in ST/STHD came out for this team tourny. Jamie or !WB! and RPGv2 or Rey, are just pros. No one can touch him. The Psychochronic crew also provided our team with some intense matches and BIG BIG shout out to Nguman who has improved in HD tremendously and won first round on me but let my Rog take over after that (Haha. Sorry Nguman I have to shit talk a little here, HYPE).
It was really cool meeting Emily and the SCIV crew and NeoRussell who I’ve exacted my revenge upon for sending my team at Bleecker into losers with his Vega.
Anyway it was cool meeting everybody and the smoke sessions were too S-Tier, they made my matches so enjoyable. Anyway I’m about to crash. peace. And thanks a lot to Teddy for the ride to my door. Fucking fantastic.

This tourny was awesome for me, the environment was great and it was wicked to meet people here. I couldn’t believe the turnout and it amazing to see how hype everyone was during the matches.
For this being my first tourny for SF I enjoyed the experience a lot and look forward to coming out to future events (albeit making sure I can stay the entire time without my friends bailing and dragging me with them) and hopefully with time I can get better so I can actually win a match
