Oi, I see. I figured it wasn’t that great because you have to be pretty far away when you do it, so that you don’t put yourself at a disadvantage. However the benefits you get with a ground hit look great. A knockdown plus a chance to get to score some good damage.
Tiga Blow also has the fortunate ( or unfortunate as the case may be ) property of being completely safe on block if spaced correctly and leading to blockstring or tick throw, which combined with his Yoga Noogie which knocks down resets his whole pressure game
it also has the strange property of completely owning the shit out of Balloon if Karnov does it too low to the ground
Karnov also should never do it low to the ground against Samchay because there is a frame that exists BEFORE he actually touches the ground where Karnov becomes throwable believe it or not, I saw it happen about six times today
it’s like right as Karnov pronounces the N in Balloon, if he’s floating about waist level in Samchay’s hitbox and in close enough proximity to the ground Samchay can just grab and mash noogie throw
Karnov has to play very safe and only use Balloon for crossup confusion or to keep his fire-kicks safe ( the charge back 2 sec forward and kick move )
i also think Yungmie counters Karnov to some extent because she’s very hard to get in on ( who the hell decided she should have a flash kick that goes up and then comes back down and is completely safe? AND a good ass air fireball that, much like Kabal in UMK3, is safe as shit? ), you have to zone her with stand C, cr. D, 66+A ( FIYAAR ) and 236+A until you get an opening for his textbook rushdown
correct me if im wrong but i thought karnov could standing A her between the up and down animations…?

The way it works is you do his projectile after you get a knockdown but from far away somewhat. Then right after the projectile do his d charge to uf + C overhead air hand move he has. If you do it correctly it does a crossup as they are getting up while the fireball hits. I’ve never tried it with the vertical roll though but that might work but it does seem somewhat slow. I’ll have to test that out and see what happens.
