eh, there are just a lot of idiots because it’s so casual-friendly. If I were to guess the number of actually relevant people who take the idea of a hacked game tourney seriously, I would roll a die.
edit: oh and to make this post more on-topic, I’d choose the PS3, mostly for Blazblue at this point. Not really all that concerned about how much better 360’s online is supposed to be.

Kind of hard. TK:DR and MK2 are the only exclusive fighters on the PS3 right now. XBox 360 has SF2:HF, UMK3, DoA4, and SC. Both systems have VF5 and SCIV. Both systems are getting SSF2T:HD remix, SFIV, KoF XII. TK6 is definitely going to stay exclusive to PS3 while SS2 and DoA5 is likely going to stay 360 exclusive.
As for right now, I think 360 would be the better choice even with the crappy controllers. When TK6 comes out, I might change my mind.

also, if killer instinct 3 comes out it will be 360 exclusive so i guess it will depend on taste (if this game is even being made)

I read somewhere that there IS a new Killer Instinct being made but it will be 3D, so who knows how that will turn out. There is a good chance you’ll see KI1 or 2 on XBLA at some point, though.
On topic, I don’t think it really matters which one people get, console exclusives are becoming a thing of the past. All the major ones will hit both systems, a few niche ones may only go to one but right now who knows which ones (did anyone see the 360 exclusive US release for Battle Fantasia coming)?
I have a 360 and love it, I will get a PS3 sometime soon, for a BlueRay player if nothing else. To be honest I usually just play on GGPO on the PC! LOL.
well if the ps3 is still region free i’d say go for the ps3 since after you get it, you won’t have to wait for a US release.
But like everyone else, if you like to play online and shit go for 360.
im not a fan of consoles that can last you a day or so, so im biased towards the ps3 simply on that subject.
all i got to say is 360 will have more fighting games online. Annd ps3 is like a technodrome without krang telling you how to control it. that shit hasnt even been tapped yet which could lead to its destruction. really tho, the only reason i even think of ps3 as an option is blazblue. That price tag needs to go down, until then 360 ftw! i got my arcade stick so its alll good.
i have both ps3 and an xbox 360 but i have to say… xbox all the way.

-its cheaper
-most fighting games are cross platform anyways and the only thing and xbox 360 user would really miss out on is tekken.
And if you are contemplating whether to get a 360 or a ps3 for fighting games then chances are ur getting a stick anyway so the controller thing is not really a big issue.

Yea, I really don’t think we are going to see many console exclusives anymore in general let alone for something as niche of a genre as fighting games.
Particular games isn’t going to decide this. I guess all that is left is other options such as preferred sticks/controllers and online play.
IMO 360 just has a better Online System, period fanboy or not you jast can’t deny that simple fact.

Older Games are BC from XB (CvS2, MvC2, 3s, KOF’s, etc)
Classic Games on XBLA (SFII Turbo, UMK3, SamSho2, KoF '98: UM, ST: HDR, etc)

Thats my problem. The only reason that I cant decide on what system is because I’m a BIG KOF head. I want to play Kof2K2/98 UM online. So far, they only announced for 360…FUCK! Release for PS3 should be common sense.
It’s really a bitch to recommend which one to get, because in my opinion they are very close. People have gone through all the reasons already, personally I got both but I usually do that it’s why I’m poor.
If getting both isn’t an option I would just wait to see what systems gets better exclusive fighters down the road. To close to call it game wise atm, though as many have said PS3 is way better as far as controller options and the region-freeness is no joke.
Wondering if anyones opinion has changed. With a few more months time and SF HD newly released…
