The evo monitor is not 144hz. It is 60hz.
I don’t even really know what monitor EVO uses but I remember hearing that the ones they used werent that hot. Based on what Ryan said I would love to see a blind test of some sort. Now Im not saying what ryan said isnt true but it would be cool to see a definite test with these new gen monitors in which they would be compared to a CRT.
I don’t own an Evo monitor myself, but even scrolling through the options you can feel the lag. I’d be interested to try these truley “lag free” monitors, but is there really a point to buy one? Crt monitors and tv’s are practically free.
Not to mention the game looks better with pixels and scan lines. Hd 3rd looks like shit imo.
I dont think anybodys buying these monitors just to play 3s, people do other things on their monitors aswell. Also agree with the last part, lo-def 3s > hd 3s

And don’t some CRTs have input lag as well? I looked into getting one a while ago and found out that not all CRTs are created equal. People always say that they are practically free, but where the hell do I get them so cheap? On CL they seem to cost more than I’m willing to spend.

I havent ever come across a laggy crt. Im not talking about big screens or widescreen tv`s, jus your typical default fatboy tv set.
Any CRT on craigslist is practically free. If someone wants to sell it for more than $20 just tell them they will never get a buyer for that piece of shit, and youll pick it up for $5 doing them a favor.
I dont know where you live but the “free section” of CL always has at least 5-10 tv`s in my area.
I might have finally solved my lag issues with FightCade to get an almost semi-playable experience. Changed a few settings and had some relatively decent matches after we played, darkhiryuu.
We can try again later now that I sorta kinda figured out how to minimize the faggotry of my set up.

When I wanted a new crt I literally hit the streets and got one that week. From the sidewalk. I still use it.
Changed from CRT to LCD, which I hadn’t seen was an option before, and changed to Experimental from the default. Turned off Autoframe Skip which was turned on for some reason after having turned it off before, and that seemed to cut down on a lot of the teleporting and instant jumps.
Still have trouble with okizeme timing and late teching throws, so I’m gonna continue fiddling with shit in hopes that I can get it as optimal as possible, but the difference before I did that and after was night and day.
You said before that you followed the guide for reducing lag. Those things are in the guide.
Are you talking about HD CRT TVs? I see loads of regular CRT TVs for free, but I’m not going to hook my PC up to one. For monitors I see a bunch of 15" crts, the kind that you get with a cheap emachine. I’ll keep an eye out and see if anything good pops up for cheap or free.
Fightcades awesome. Just that everyone I play is too far away and if they’re close I still lag. Can’t play for shit. But its dope.

That being said I made some tweeks to my PC and the in game emulator so its not as laggy. So games should be better from this point forward.
I hadn’t seen the option to switch CRT to LCD though, Kwyjibo, guess I skimmed over it. And I had autoframe skip off before, but for some reason when I checked back again it was on again. I think I might have reset my settings to default at one point because I had to reconfig my inputs too.
I can’t wrap my head around FightCade or properly explain what I did/was happening. I just know it works better now and I’m happy about that.
If youre lagging on fight cade go to select blitter turn the blitter to basic under softFX and the blitter options to no effects go to misc turn the priority to high. Turn off auto frame skips. Reduce window size. Run the game in compatibility with windows xp service pack 3. Run as admin. Do the same for ggpofba.exe file Should do it. If its still lagging you need a faster pc. Anything below 130ms should be fine.
If its not saving go to misc go down to the 3rd to bottom bracket and click save settings to .ini now
Be warned the community is shitty and if you use sean or low tier characters people will talk shit for days. So like xbla with less competitive skill

Well they just call each other scrubs all day… Or argue. But to each his own. You find it entertaining so maybe others will too. Its still good. Just a persons taste. Fight cade brings 3s to pc so its good.
