- Guilty Gear Series
- CvS2
- Oblivion Agony
I friend of mine told me that I need to start playing GG. A few people have told me its possibly the best fighting game ever, along with Garou (another game I havenāt played). I can take peoples word for it, but if the game really is as good as people claim it to be why isnt it more popular than the usual games we see at tournaments?.. its must be really hard to get into.
I cant find any clips of Oblivion Agony, is it a 1on1 fighter?
Itās hard to get in to, to some extent. At a beginner level itās as easy as anything else. But at a high level you have to deal with so much shit, and I mean that in a good way. Even characters that can be considered bottom tier will fuck you up. There are even some really hard 5-5 matchups in the game, because all the characters are legitimately strong.
The game is still played, IIRC it brings in numbers similar to BB.
GG has the fame of being difficult but imo that is an exaggeration, yes the game has its share of difficult stuff and character specific stuff that you need to learn, but it also has a lot of stuff that is quite easy and effective even at high level play, the thing with GG is that it rewards knowledge and the time that you invest on the game, imo the game is not as difficult as many people claim.
At least on its own country GG was aways one of the top 3 along side with tekken and the gundam games
AS for usa, do i need to quote my post of the last page?
We already know that any combination of those 3 elements are what make a fg popular on USA, perhaps the only exception is TVC and that is mostly because it was a Wii exclusive imo.
I tossed it as a joke, Is the game that i am designing :looney:
Iām gonna seperate mine to classic and recent.
Recent: 1. KOFXIII 2.Tekken Tag 2 3. VFFS
Classic: 1. Tekken5 DR 2. CVS2 3. VF4EVO
Guilty Gear is a good game, and I shall prove it:
if GG = Good Game
and GG = Guilty Gear
than Guilty Gear = Good Game
The problem is pretty much what Hecatom posted before, but I think in addition to that Guilty Gear is now considered too āold-schoolā compared to the likes of BlazBlue or Persona 4 Arena.
As for my top 3:
- Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus
- Capcom Vs. SNK 2
- tossup between Skullgirls, BlazBlue, Vampire Savior, Super Turbo, 3rd Strikeā¦whichever one I feel like playing that day
1: 3S.
2: Kizuna Encounter.
3: Still looking.
- KOF98UM
- MBAACC
- MVC2
- VSAV
- CVS2/3S
1.3S
2.MvC2
3.Skullgirls
Venture Beat has an interesting article about the length of supers: http://venturebeat.com/2013/04/30/you-can-make-a-snack-before-these-fighting-game-supermoves-finish/#WCpgucChCedzxoVB.02
Can someone please link me to the thread where HAV or Buktooth posted about the input lag in the JP PSN version CvS2. It seemed very noticeable to me as soon as I touched the stick in training mode, but Iād like to get independent confirmation. I read somewhere that they posted about it here on SRK.
Isnāt the question more appropriately worded the other way around? Arrow symbols are intuitive, the number keypad isnāt.
How could it be not intuitive when each numbers correspond to an specific arrow, plus is more easy to understand for any language.
SRK Lounge: for general fighting game discussions that arent thread worthy
Okay.
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown was the second best fighting game of 2012.
And itās pretty sad I had to use this thread to make such a claim.
Corresponds to what exactly? A numeric keypad, found on some (but not all) PCs (but not Macs)? That starts with 7 on top and 3 on the bottom? Of course, any noob should know that already.
Similar thing to Rolentoā¦ Blazu hit me with a 66%, 2-second CC off of 2 metersā¦ Shitās nuts. Not 100%, but still stupid as shit.
Iām curious to know what everyoneās top 3 favourite fighters are.
iāll start: alpha2, Turbo, Super Turbo.
Overall: Super Turbo, Accent Core, CvS2
Capcom only: Super Turbo, CvS2, 3S.
Honorable mentions: VF5FS, King13, King 98, King 11, King 02UM, LB2, Garou, World Heroes Perfect, MvC2, Alpha 2, Vampire Savior, Cyberbots, Tobal 2, Project Justice, Plasma Sword, no order. Yeah, lotsā¦

I recall Bas confirmed it as well when we played it on my PS3.

Too bad itās a PS2 classic. Oh well. It should be easier to get side tournaments going for it now. I donāt know too many people that still have DC/PS2 sticks laying around. Also has anyone else had trouble with using TEās and other PS3 sticks while playing PS2 games on PS3? A while back I played CvS2 on a friendās BC PS3 and it didnāt recognize my PS3 stick. Anyone else have this issue?
i thought the lag was way more than 1-2 frames. it was basically unplayable for me, also skips frames a ton
I have arcade access, PS2 and Dreamcast versionā¦ and I bought PS3 port anyway. Fuck it.
And yeahā¦ Iām on record saying thereās lag. There is. But unless you have a good history with the game, you wonāt notice. It doesnāt matter. Buy it and play it.
Iām curious to know what everyoneās top 3 favourite fighters are.
- CVS2
