I can understand why older fighters aren’t balanced but programmers do not have those excuses anymore. I say patch that shit until people can play it the way it was intended to be played. Would poker be a better game if your cards could poison the people you’re playing against?.. (that would be fun to watch though, lol)
I wouldn’t want to live in a world where HnK has no bounce infinites. I think it’s great that fighters are almost like a sandbox where devleopers put their mechanics and an outline for how it should be played, and then the players do as much as they can (and maybe even more) within the confines of the game.
I don’t think the poison thing is relevant…since that’s just cheating. And kind of illegal I would think.
I got no beef with V-ism. I just wish ST-ism served a purpose.
X-ISM Dhalim is one of the best characters in the game
Dhalsim was one of the best in general.
I agree, except that you CAN hope to perfectly balance a game through vigorous patching. it’s just that you’re likey to end up spending alot of money to end up with a worse game.
edit: I love how alpha 3 turned out. no complaints
Would it kill Namco or Team Ninja to put in a proper evade system or do the fan bases of those games find them “cheap”, do its treated like an after thought?
Just picked up SCV, so I got some “untraining” to do. The movement system is interesting, in a good way for the most part.
I just want to know which is snk next game
What did MikeZ say about P4U?
Alpha2 system (without mid air block) with Alpha3 characters = best Alpha game ever
Dhal being the only character with a decent Xism doesn’t really make Xism useful in general. Doesn’t Bison have that crazy Xism psycho crusher? I’m not a Bison player so I dont know how useful it is.
In few words, he thinks that is not good.
I insist that this notion that pursuing for a balanced game leads to a worse game is just stupid, as i said before, just because capcom only know to balance games by neutering the cast it doesn’t mean that balance = a boring game.

He doesn’t like it. His early thoughts for +r and cp are also the same if you’re wondering.

Alpha 2 is sweet, but I don’t see any reason to play it over ST. Alpha 3 is it’s own game.
lol, when did I say Alpha 2 was better than ST? A tweaked version of Alpha 2 would be better than ST.
some of my local friends would rather not play with my console anymore because i din’t buy dlc alterante costumes and colors… some of them would bring their own console just so that they can play with their high priced recently bought dlc costumes…
mortal kombat was cool because the costumes came with a brand new klassic fatality but the sf4 alternate costumes wasn’t worth my hard earned money…
business wise… i don’t hate the idea but… to me, costumes, whether they be unlockable through gameplay or purchasable through your console virtual store, is some kind of valuable token of appreciation frome the developers… it’s as meaningful as a thank you for playing message after you beat a game…

I swear some men are turning into women. who the hell spends real money to buy costumes for a specific character they play in a fighting game?
Stay hatin’ Barbie mode is just as serious. I got original, other games, palette swaps, etc. etc. when it comes to.customs in FS. Went pretty hard in XIII as well. Style&Profile is must.
Got used to SCV as far as movement and general flow. I still prefer VF5 series movement overall because Evade, Evade cancels and OM just have more zip to them. Not in comparison to.just SC, but to Tekken and DOA as well.
Another thing I like, which I was whatever about, was attacks beating throws. It never bothered me one way or the other but after playing more SCV and then playing some VF, I really liked it a lot. Something I never thought about 'till now. Much like the fireball in ST, I’d say the throws in VF work the same way as far as that dynamic of judgment and conditioning go.

Look at it this way, at least they’re stepping up and bringing their own setups to events.
