FGD Lounge: for general fighting game discussions that aren't thread worthy

That’s not a bad idea.

The downside though is that VGFC’s combo system is extremely open ended so it’s not really possible to determine what’s a dropped combo or not…but I’ll look into what I can do. At the very least maybe I could do something where motions are stupidly complicated on top of every link being 1 frame or something.

On innovation in fighters, I think it’s hard to do new interesting things. Outside of the Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, airdasher and Smash formulas, the only thing I can imagine would be a first/third person fighter. Things like Dark Souls pvp and Mount and Blade have their followers, so perhaps a more complex take on that kind of versus could work.

Made this just in time for Evo.

Oh shit, UNIEL is releasing later today (July 12) http://store.steampowered.com/app/452510/

Already bought it days ago. Going full anime.

Kinda wondering if the story mode in SFV solves anything towards Ryus blatant homosexuality?

so…
Under Night In Birth, AH3, Melty Blood, and Koihime Enbu are all on steam…yet still no P4.

god hates me.

the video answers your own question at 1:30 mark.

To be fair ti could be that ASW no longer hold the right to use that IP.
Heck one of the reason Meltyblood took so long to get PC release because 90% of the cast was being hostage by Type moon. Most likely something was settle to allow the game steam release since Type moon still not allowing Frenchbread to Make Melty HD even though French bread really wants too.

Asw only has rights over the arcade relwase, and even then they only release one if atlus gives them green light.

Any console/pc release is on atlus, not asw.

As for the mb HD, fb is waiting for the remake of tsukihime to start working on the new mb.

Is there any fighting game character in current mainstream games who relies primarily on zoning as their primary source of damage? The only one that comes to mind is Nu-13.

I’m trying to find a character where I can feel like I’m playing as a magician sort of. Like where my main goal is to either setup traps or just use powerful projectiles to control and bring damage to the opponent. I have no interest in my primary source of damage being from upclose frame traps or upclose high low mixups. I basically want to avoid being upclose as much as possible.

I play Dhalsim in SF5, but he still feels too much like a fighter rather than the “magician” feel I’m going for.

Edit: I might actually have to try Pokken Tournament. That may be what I’m looking for in terms of fighting style.

KOF, like Fatal Fury, and Samarie Showdown was one of those rival Fighting Games completing against the “mainstream” Street Fighter games. For the most part, KOF is a solid game, but lacks that one EDGE that street Fighter has. I will say this though, KOF was the first fighting game to introduce the combo chains, well before SF caught wind of it…

Dormammu, M.O.D.O.K. in Marvel, Quan Chi in MKX.

i learned something about Eighting today.

We should have a subforum 5v5 event. Each subform gets a team of one mod and 4 regulars. We do a single elimination bracket and see which subforum is da bes.

Plus we can get random members to commentate and stream all this nonsense.

Only if is on some random obscure games

Could be on anything. One of the games would have to be SF5 just because but we could potentially do ST on fightcade and whatnots. The idea would be to get active users more involved as a community.

Man, if only Eretzvaju and ZOE2 had online, it would be a landfield.
Vic Viper vs Vic Viper all day nigga, plus my Kakurine is fucking sick.
