Fez Creator says "Gamers are the Worst F***ing People"

If I had a large enough microphone, I’d say crazy shit too. He’ll, I don’t have a microphone and I say crazy shit. I think the problem is that he is calling out gamers for the wrong reason. He should call out gamers for continually buying capcom games even though they keep making shitty decisions with their products, for not bathing when they go to tournaments (or sometimes when they leave their home), for the constant misbehavior online that then falls on the respective communities that had nothing to do with the person commiting the actions (yeah, all you fuckers sending hate mail and just randomly insulting people on mics), being obnoxious in different settings, speaking eloquently about games but not intelligently about them (there is a BIG FUCKING DIFFERENCE), saying a lot of insanely unfunny shit in public that forces out to do a lot of social parrying to make up for your stupid.

So I guess all the sacks of shit that are fucking up for us: stay in your basements and kill your internet.

But that stuff doesn’t lose him money so he doesn’t care.

I said a large microphone. New one is getting ignore because I just made shit get too real.

Son, I get alot of tail.

Those poor, poor dogs.

He is far from the truth.
This idea in the media that people’s words are the worst thing ever is silly.
I personally don’t care about what he says about gamers; it’s his mouth, he can say whatever he wants.
One asshole in a community does not mean everyone is. BTW there are assholes in every community.

I haven’t been a big gamer so my games list knowledge isn’t very expansive. Can you give examples of new (or innovative) gameplay mechanics introduced this gen? I can’t think of much aside from some indie/smaller games like Echochrome and Puzzle Quest. Minecraft, Mirror’s Edge, Portal for more mainstream. What about motion controls? Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword made the best use of that.

Judging aesthetics is like judging art or music. It’s all a matter of taste, graphics should not be a main criterion to determine whether so and so game sucks. Stories are dependent on the genre. I don’t expect a story when I play a sports, puzzle, racing or casual game. Doesn’t make them worse than a game with one.

I want you to slap yourself right now.

Then go to GameStop and get Red Steel 2.

I saw this thread pop up. First question who the fuck is Fez.

Fez is a game, not a person. Unless we’re talking about the image posted earlier, in which case you need to go watch That 70s Show

Incidentally, I’ve been looking forward to this game for ages, but I’m feeling pretty put down now that the creator’s being a royal asshole. ):

The ones you named are pretty good examples. TO use an indie game that I brought up in another thread, VVVVVV uses a simple concept/mechanic (the gravity flipping) for some satisfying puzzles in an Atari-inspired landscape. Which is aesthetics, and like you said, they’re subjective. That all depends on who’s playing.

You could also say Heavy Rain, though I felt that ran on the game’s RPG elements. The story itself was nothing new at all.

To be honest, I don’t play nearly as many games as I used to, so my knowledge on the past few years’-worth isn’t the best.

Yeah, it always irked me that a series that was so plagued with glitches was held in such high regard. Granted, it never really vibed with me to begin with, but glitches are the most objective way of saying “This game is shoddy and not made properly.” Bad art, bad sound, bad gameplay - all can be justified by personal taste - but there’s no way to justify a game that has more bugs than Joe’s Apartment.

I remember feeling the same way about GTA:Vice City - so many publications gave that game 10 out of 10s when it came out, and I kept remember those scores as I continuously drowned in the street because the roads didn’t load up in time and I fell through the ground. That was like my awaking - the moment as my veil of ignorance was lifted and I realized that review scores were artificially inflated.

Oh wait, what was this topic about? Oh hey, it’s Foot-In-Mouth-Man again.

Yea, IT professionals often say dumb shit about users being stupid and worthless when they are the very people who support their employment. This guy should get out of the spotlight and go make some more games. His name will be forgotten in a year. I met Nobuo Uematsu when I went to GDC and he was about as unobtrusive as possible for a ‘celeb’ gaming professional. Oh, and back then GDC wasn’t full of pretentious pricks who think that today’s easy mode game APIs entitle them to instant star-status.

Be humble, you bastard.

OH NO! HOW DARE this uhh…wait who is this?

Yeah unless it was Fez from That 70’s show, I honestly don’t know who the fuck this guy is nor do I give a damn about his opinion.
