Easily. You could even claim he’s been reset almost. Each gradual buff has eventually ended up being offset with these new nerfs. Any other nerf to his frame advantage could have easily made him the worse rendition yet.
I think still think he’ll be a good character for good players, us lowly live warriors are going to find it tough again though.
I’d be surprised if Mago doesn’t go back to Sagat.

so am i crazy for thinking the rekka 2 nerf may have unexpected advantages.
like if people know to punish after 2, then rekka 1 just became much more safe as people wait on the punish the second.
also, they will be itching to hit a button after 2, so a delayed 3rd for counter hit wont be a terrible idea
I was thinking about that as well, it’ll definitely change the theory around all rekka usage. It’ll be impossible to know until we get time to flesh it out with 2012. The question is, how much will it really change about rekka 1? Do you guys often play people who attempt to punish the first one? I mean I typically don’t see it unless it’s obviously a really poorly spaced one like I drop a combo and they block a fierce rekka deep. If they opt out of punishing in that situation hoping for a huge punish after a second then that’s pretty awesome for us.
they usually dont go for a full punish, but they will hit a button to poke me out of further pressure

I’ve been starting to wonder if the Rekkukyaku hitbox adjustment will somehow affect the times where when we perform a corner Shienkyaku xx FADC Rekkukyaku and our opponent gets shift to out of the corner but all 3 hits still make contact.
Does anyone know if there has been footage of location tests that might show if this adjustment has or hasn’t had some effect on this?
For me it will be bad i dont think we can’t use any of the wake up cwing anymore besides i used to use lk cwing on wake up and when it crossed up and it was safe now it looks like we’ll get punished for it.
Hey guys I wonder if you could all help me. I am trying to find a file that was posted on SRK a while back and I hope you all can help. The file was a link to a 9gb file that had videos of all the players hitboxes. I am trying to get that file so I can get every characters hitboxes down as well as add the AE hitbox changes to further assist the AE app that is on the iphone. So your help would be extremely helpful

He doesn’t like me because when we played each other he was laggy as shit and he didnt like to be called out for mashing DP during block strings. He went on to say he “I don’t mash” but replay shows him mashing DP hard. Thanks anyhow I will ask around
why did you have to “call him out on it”? its punishable, and for every mash tactic, theres a counter tactic. i’ll just lay this out there. some of it you may know, some you may not. not just for you, but for general use to anyone else who may have a problem against mashing
-chain cancelled jabs and shorts cant be mashed out of. you can do stuff like cr.lk, st.lk, step back for mash bait. if no mash, you can walk back in and throw., or cr.jab rekkaX1 to counter hit a crouch tech short
-stagger strings like the one i put above are very useful. they train people to not press buttons, therefore opening up more offensive options
-if you time late cross ups on wake up to apply pressure on wake up to dp characters, the cross up dosent always leave enough block stun, and creates a mash gap on block. this is where you see players block the jump in and immediately grind the corners
-to beat this, you have 2 options. dont cross up, and jump in with fierce/roundhouse. this is tricky because it usually requires a canned setup because of feis heavys not having cross up boxes. you have to make your jump in meaty and space it so the reversal dp will pass under you
mashing works, but it still carrys a huge risk if your opponent doesent have meter. the most important tip against mashing IMO, is to make the most of a successful bait. always go for a max punish combo or ultra if available. they will think about it the next time if the risk equals the loss of a round from a 300+ combo
on wake up you can use magos step back cr.lp rekka. it takes a bit of practice to time properly, but basiclly you start backing away when they begin the wake up annimation. time your cr. jab late enough so that you can hit any wake up jabs/shorts, and also block a reversal
This was a while back and he mashed during my BNB but with PSN and lag it messed me up. It’s cool I learned a lot from when I last face him. This all took place way before CEO in fact so I have leveled up a lot since then.
lol. yeah, unfortunately you cant do shit about lag mashing thru your combos on hit. the counter tactic to that is to not play vs laggy mofo’s
