Man… Ryu’s new tatsu is crazy looking (trajestory wise). Also escape tatsu is back :(, although it doesn’t look as effective.
I already sent out a question to Gods Garden to ask Fuudo and Mago there thoughts on Fei Long in AE2012. Gods Garden replied to me “we will pass your questions along and its great to hear from you again” (YES!!!) That said, I have recieved a few messages in my inbox on FB and here on SRK about my petition to Capcom to reduce the frame disavantage of Fei Long’s 2nd rekka from -8 to -6. Now before I post this thread on Capcoms fourm I will post it here to get an idea of who would likes or dislikes the idea. Again I am doing this for you guys as I have developed a relationship with some Capcom figure heads. It may or may not change anything but I will take the chance and post it if you guys are really down for it and you all would like to speak up. If we do go forward I ask that every single member of the Fei Long community signs this petition in support for this change. if we only get 20 signatures we will just be laughed at/away.
Again if your down please say so I will post the petition and forward it to the top dogs at Capcom. Then tell your friends to sign it as well just for support. If we are at least able to get 1,000 signatures we may be able to get them to at least reconsider the frame disavantage. I am not asking them to change the push back or chip but just the frames on block. So this is what I wrote:
"Since the Dev blog has been released and we Fei Long players have seen the nerfs that Fei received, many of us are cool with all the nerfs but just 1. That nerf would be to the 2nd lp rekka on block. The chip damage was reduced, we are cool with this. The push back was reduced; again we are cool with this. Last, it is now -8 on block. Fei Long has been -6 on block from a 2ndlp rekka since Super street Fighter 2 The New Challengers to Super Street Fighter IV AE.
Yes Fei Long has been -6 on block from a 2nd lp rekka for that long and it’s just now that players are having a issue with it. Now the complaints, crying is more like it, was the reason the chip, push back and frames were changed in the AE2012 version. We all found it to be his hardest nerf. Again the damage nerf we don’t care about so much as its very rare a Fei player lands a cw>hp>FK>FADC>CW for about 400-450 damage points. The rekka is our main tool, it’s our pressure tool. The funny apart about the entire Fei Long balance in AE2012 is that Capcoms knows with this nerf, players will hold down back more often against Fei Long that he had his overhead damage pushed up from 60 damage points to 70 damage points.
I can understand if someone who is reading this would reply “stop crying and hit confirm rekkas”. Guess what you are correct. With Street Fighters popularity and that it is widely played online for the Xbox 360 and PS3, that it is no secret that these games do suffer from online lag. Players can hit there first rekka but when they attempt to complete the rekka on hit they find that the 2nd rekka is block and now get punished for that mistake that isn’t the players fault. Again we all know that many of you will say “it was a mindless poke that players just threw out there” again this is correct. We all reply, “it isn’t that hard to stuff/punish a rekka”.
Fei Long was a solid character in Vanilla yet he never won a EVO. In Super he was still the same but received some minor damage nerfs (2nd lp rekka remained the same). Players Like Starnab, Evans from the UK, Inthul, CJ Truth from the USA all did well with Fei Long. It wasn’t until Mago from Japan released Fei Longs full potential. since then more casual players have picked up Fei Long to imitate the success that Mago achieved with this character. Fuudo from Japan won this years EVO 2k11 and Gods Garden tournament with Fei Long. The cries about him being overpowered started due to the buffs he received in AE. Buffs that weren’t need as Mago showed that Fei Long can win a major.
So with AE theme of being more of a rush down game Fei Long along with the twins were considered the top tier. The Fei Long community only agree with that for about 50%. Many if not all of Fei Longs bad matchups received many damage reductions, frames reductions and options that allowed them to escape Fei Longs rush down game. That along coupled together with Fei Long st.lp being +6 on hit, ex rekka 2nd rekka -2 on block and no damage reductions where the factors that push him to the top of the charts. Is this a bad thing? The character is a life like image of a Iconic hero in Bruce Lee who many felt at his time was the most dangerous man on the planet, in fact some say he was the greatest martial artist fighter ever.
So again why was it bad that Fei Long jumped to the top of the charts? Now I know I am going on and one but I just want to point out a few examples as to why -6 on block is just fine and that -8 on block for a 2nd lp rekka is over kill, many characters can link a super from a combo or evena Ultra for big damage with this frame disavantage. During Gods Gardens tournament in Japan where Fuudo won again with Fei Long, Fuudo faced Tokido another great player from Japan and during his match against Tokido, Fuudo used 2lp rekka’s on block against Tokido 4 times (minus the use of ex rekka) Tokido out of those 4 times punished Fuudo 4 times. So for each time Fuudo used a 2nd lp rekka on block in his match against Tokido he was punished each time and was even punished by a Ultra. So as you can see Fei Can be punished on a 2nd Lp rekka on block already. We asked of you to please consider reducing the frame disadvantage of Fei’s 2nd rekka on block back to -6. You already reduced his damage overall, his chip damage on rekka and lastly his push back on a 2nd lp rekka, I provided a photo showing the difference between the distance. Jason, I am honored to have you fight for your belief as strongly as you do. On top of this, ALL I WANT is the St. LP > Sweep combo to stay, it’s gonna help with fighting characters with superior pokes like Vega for instance and removing it would only make this much more unnecessary.

Well, we expected the Fei forums to get blown out at the start of AE but it came much much later. Not much is being discussed or thought about any more, the only thing getting talked about are how Fei’s changed and people’s opinions on it, which is pretty much now just a stale back and forth between people who think Fei needs more nerfs and people who are wanting some buffs in return etc.
If I wasn’t such a lazy bum I’d probably do something about it, but meh, my heads not in it atm as I’m currently being brain-dead playing Fable III.
Anywho, I’m excited for v.2012, it’s gonna be very interesting. Everyone just needs to stop, and be chill.
I wanted to Pick Fei for a long time at my Offline scene, But I felt cheesy playing him because the guy’s there are quick to judge people as “Tierwhores”
Now he got some nerfs. I think I’ll pick him up, Fei is a damn appealing character.

You shouldn’t care what people say, you payed for the game, you can pick whoever the hell you want anyone b******* can go f*** themselves lol, don’t worry the next version will have a new top character that everyone will be crying about, most people who are whining are scrubs they blame tiers for their losses.

Dont try to chip with ultra one they can mash out a dp for the last hit of the ultra on block or they can punish your ultra by quickly doing their ultra soon as you do it.
I’m talking about when they have a Pixel of health. The second hit always gets them.
Bear in mind this has only happened once. But I couldn’t help it.
