Well I think a turtling honda is a pain, but they usually only do this after they have a life lead. The biggest thing with honda is that he can’t walk forward (rekkas), he can’t jump (flame kicks). fei can punish headbutts if blocked/spaced wrong. fei is a huge threat vs honda, especially in AE where honda’s damage is nerfed. Not to mention the OS game fei has. fei has an answer to everything honda does. Plus Evans is a beast fei so im sure that has something to do with it lol.
Ok so I have to be superturtle too and wait for his first mistake with patience. I’ll try thanks.
Time to check some option select in training too.
Good luck RPGv2!!! Keep kickin ass!!!
Very off topic but thought someone would be interested.
Well for all those people that don’t know or haven’t seen it yet, Ip Man is now on Hulu for FREE.
Ip man is reguarded as the first master to openly teach Wing chun, and eventually taught Bruce lee.
For anyone who enjoys watching martial arts movies I would deffinatly recomend checking this out. Just to let you know I’ve watched this movie about 10 times since its release. Anywho, here is the link I hope you all enjoy it!
Ip Man is a fantastic wing chun movie where the kung fu is very grounded and realistic yet visually impressive. It also explains Fei Long’s U2 animation, which Ip Man busts out repeatedly over the course of the movie. BTW Ip Man is a bastardisation his name’s more like Yip Mun.
TL;DR If you’re a bruce lee fan you MUST watch this movie. Donnie Yen (Ip Man) is one of the best movie martial artists i’ve seen.
Oh and if the option is available keep the language on cantonese for extra win. it’s much more epic than the mandarin dub
Screw you Hulu! I hate drattin geographical stream limitations!!
Reveiw of TEasy Strike solderless dual mod:
Ok I know I posted this earlier but I have finally installed the latest and greatest TEasy, so I thought I’d write alittle something for those who missed the earlier post. For anyone interested in dual modding your xbox360 TE, do yourself a favor and get this while they are still around. The original publicly sold TEasy sold out very fast and the wait was near 4-5months before the new TEasy Strike was developed and released. The older version required two PCB’s and a lengthy ribbon cable making the inside of your TE stick rather cluttered. So in an effort to cut down on the space needed (so other mods would be easier to fit), AND make the install even easier then before (one PCB raher then two, and no more screw terminals) TEasy Strike has been released.
I bought two, and I have just recently installed one into a friends TE. This being my second time doing this it went without a hitch, and was installed and firmware updated within 30 mins. The level of skill to do this borders on the beginner/intermediate line, but as long as you follow the directions on the site and are safe while working with the electronics (grounding yourself before touching anything) I’m sure any person could do it. So that being said I would recommend this product to anyone that was interested in a dual mod.
If anyone is interested please go to the site above and check out the write up on how to install and see if you feel you can do it. good luck and happy modding!
Any Fei players getting into Marvel? I’ve been thinking about it for some time but I’m not totally sold yet since I never learned to play MvC2 in the first place. I might actually pick up a pad for this. Got interested in the new fighting pad from PDP:
Versus Fighting Pad - Marvel Edition for the Xbox 360
Assuming plinking won’t be in Marvel, I may not need the stick for it.
Yep, MvC3 will seriously eat into my SSF4 time.
And I can’t imagine using anything but a stick for Marvel. Just watching Magneto do air combos is proof enough.
I wasn’t going to buy it, but then when Phoenix was announced I just got in with the hype. I’m wary though, because I don’t want to have wasted all of the effort I’ve put into Fei, because I genuinely enjoy SSFIV. It does seem however, that a lot of people are just going to be looking for the top tiers so they have a good shot at winning while the game is still new, which I don’t really like as much, I kinda prefer the game to be settled somewhat so the competition is about the players and not so much about winning with something that nobody’s even thought of…
I’ve never enjoyed the play style of the Marvel/X-Men games.
Yep im getting it, although i will be very bad at it i can’t not get it.
Ever play fighting games on a pad? Lots of sitck-natives say that they can’t imagine playing on one. Having started on pad, it’s something I think I would gravitate to. I still feel like I was faster on pad than stick, though being able to do certain techniques on stick has been really helpful.
Truthfully, one of the big reasons why I gave up pad was because of the rubber “switches” they used which would break often. This PDP has microswitches instead (like a mini stick), so I’m excited for that. :bgrin:
Higgs I’m making you my rival then. I’ve got 0 skills in Marvel and I’ll need to challenge someone on that level
Hold that thought. I need revenge against you because of you styling all over me in SSF4. You will be my first MvC3 victim (if I don’t suck).
Also Kobra you should join this room and get some win streaks going.
Peaceful Jay’s Colosseum on Justin.tv
Lol bring it on!
Ah wish I could right now, but I’m just trolling while at work. I might drop in after 6 though.
Marvel is going to be fun
On a different note, I went to my first tournament tonight and came 3rd It was only 16 people, and some were crap (one guy had never even played SF before…) but my god, I was very ill prepared for how bad the nerves were going to get to me. One guy was playing on an xbox pad using Cody, but he normally uses the PS3 one, and that was still kinda close. One guy playing a really random, button pressing Juri nearly took a game off me. Is it quite normal to be completely unable to do cr.LP xx Rekkas to punish? lol. My fingers felt like jelly.
I lost to my friend who plays Vega because I couldn’t really do anything in terms of footsies or punishes (he’s a git because he doesn’t get nervous because he doesn’t care, he just pushes buttons lol), whilst when we were playing earlier in the day I was winning about 70%+ of our games :’(
I couldn’t hit and links or confirm rekkas because, as I soon realised, I use the sound to confirm them or to land the cl.HP after CWs because I play wearing a headset. All in all though, it was really fun and competitive, and a good experience, but damn was it costly… I need a part time job.
Anyone else get tournament nerves that bad the first time??
My very first ranbat at my school (vanilla) had me shaking pretty bad. The second one I was much more confident due to a lower turnout.
First tournament, I was ok too, but then this past one I just went to I was pretty nervous due to it being higher profile (and because the likes of Marlin Pie and Dieminion were there). I think ultimately, starting smaller will help since you’re guaranteed a decent placing if you beat just a couple people. The larger it gets, the worse it’ll get to you. But I suppose people get over it in time. Just keep going and keep on repping Fei Great job on getting 3rd!
I’ll let you know, im entering my first one, MVC3 (don’t plan on doing well at all) and SSF4 (also don’t plan on doing well at all lol) next saturday, wish me luck!

Congrats to Evil Rahsaan for taking 9th at the CTF AE tournament  We’re starting to see some Makotos place now, which is interesting. Otherwise, every other top player seems to be sticking with their main(s).
One of the losing matches–only one I could find :-/

I have this same video from Rashaans side. I wanted to rant say say “where is the 1st place finsih with Fei”.? LOL At the same time Rashaan could have won this match. Sim got nerfed hard! I can feel Art’s pain. You can see he an has an idea with Fei but he just picked him up and he missed many links and went for punishes that did little damage. Still placing 9th shows that Fei is becoming a serious threat. I have a video of him winning against Mega Man Steve’s Akuma I will post tonight. My wifi at my job is trash
