Fei Long Theory Fighter/General Discussion

My very first tournament match was at ECT2 and being streamed. Which happend to be the very first match of the tournament. I was at that point where I mained both Fei and Guile at the same time. I used stick for Guile only and mained Fei on pad. My nerves were so struck that when I sat down to play I realized that I gave my stick to a friend to play his match so I was stuck with the pad. Instead of going with Fei, I ended up going with Guile which made me even more worse.

Sup.

Lol standard for him not to get nervous, i can just imagine him laughing at every stupid mistake being made, irritating you further to do more stupid things, god damn him.

I went to Ultimate Clash Extreme in London this weekend, that was pretty high profile for an English event having Dieminion in attendance too. Got beasted by people i shouldnt have been beasted by, missed alot of combos and overall played shit. Hopefully i shake this off as i go

Here is 2 of Evil Rashaans matches from the tournament last night at CTF

lol i remember seeing ur name on the stream nemesys and being like, wtf wheres the fei at!

So after playing MvC3 for about 16 hrs straight I feel that I will be putting just as much time into this game as I have with SSF4… I mean MvC3 has such depth, seth killian wasn’t lying when he said the training mode will own your soul once you buy this game. I will be playing pretty much the rest of the night so if there is anything you want me to try or general questions that havent been answered already lemme know!

where at?

xanadu, right outside the city of baltimore! PM me if you want to go, I live 45mins away from there so you could meet at my house (all depending on where you’re coming from of course) then we could go cause walking into places alone kinda sucks lol.

Also they play on PS3, and I think I will have dual modded my other stick by then, so you could use that if ya want.

Hey higgs, I’m thinking on picking this game up to balance out my SSF4 rages. Do you think it’s accesable to a complete newb like me? I have never picked up MVC games, but for some reason find myself attracted to this one.

I understand it only on a very basic level. Never played it though.

Oh yea man, you can pick this game up pretty fast (basic level), I mean its just like anything new, youre gonna suck at it when you start but as long as you put the time in you can catchup quickly. There is a mission mode that guides you through the combos and possibilities of assists. I played MvC2 for like 3 months then took a very long break, so i might as well had never played lol, and i seem to be picking it up pretty well. It’s a lot of fun, and me and a few of my friends plan on playing it and we all know that we aren’t going to be good at all but its about the fun of it, i mean this game has sooooo many different aspects, if you like SSF4 youre gonna like this game.

I’m both excited and sad about MvC 3. I’m gonna want to learn it, but it’s going to make my Fei weaker no doubt, but at the same time, there’ll be no-one playing SSFIV anyway so my ranked points are pretty set in stone for the moment. Is there enough time to learn MvC 3 and maintain my SF game? I already struggle to fit in as much time on SF as I’d like… Any of you guys worried about this?? The Fei boards are gonna be going dark for a good while I guess too :frowning:

Yea i am worried about it, BUT i think breaks from games to play others is a good thing. I usually try to incorporate things learned from one into the other, and don’t worry about the fei forums I will always be here to rant and say stupid things lol

a break from SF wouldnt hurt to bad i mean Super is obsolete until we get that AE DLC
i was forced to take a break when my xbox broke but i mean it doesnt take that long to brush the rust off

Nice, I’m pretty pumped to learn a new game. The only thing I’m afriad of is it’s not like SSF4 when you kind of have certain game fundamentals installed since you were 10 years old…

Any particualr Team combo’s that look like they might be newb friendly? I like the look of Deadpool and Magneto (no idea why I just do!), and I have no idea how to combine the team, Ie grappler, projectile etc etc , I guess that’s part of the learning process.

Sorry - Trying not to Turn this into a MVC3 thread. Maybe we should have a Fei board MVC thread? (probably a stupid idea but might work since we all get along? :woot:)

Yeah I agree Highland. It’s like a seperate board really considering how most of us interact, and the Fei forums have been grinding gradually to a halt recently so why not?

But yeah, watching the TS NerdJosh vs. Marn Team Sp00ky stream now makes me get mixed feelings. It looks kinda repetitive atm, and Marn, Ricky and Justin have all started talking negatively about it and being seemingly narrow minded for people in their perspective (unless of course they’re all trolling) so I personally have mixed feelings…

lol nah i wouldn’t make a new thread. this is a general discussion thread and is perfectly suited for such discussions!

From what I can tell super skrull looks like he is easy to use, he has a command grab that is fast and reaches past 1/2 screen. It grabs grounded and jumping opponents, after that mash L atk and then you can hyper pretty easily, not to mention he has a pretty standard re-launcher that can lead into a level 3 hyper, he also has avg health if i recall correctly. But after him I haven’t seen to many that offer such ease of combo > hyper (don’t get me wrong he has some very difficult stuff but just picking up the game thats the first thing i did). I would wait until you get the game to see who ya like, i mean you can watch all the video’s ya want but until you play it, and know how you like to play then you can come up with who you will use. Then you can look at assists blah blah blah lol. Personally I like taskmaster he is a mashup of a lot of chars move sets and has avg health and long reach. I’ll just tell you this now, EVERY char. has the ability to do 50%+ damage whether in the corner or not only using one bar, this game is surprisingly balanced from what I can tell, but i really don’t know much about the series

Hahahaha yea well I thought this game was balanced until x-factor comes into play… forget I said anything about balance lol

Wahey! A great tutarial is on the front page so I can finally get a grip with MvC3!

You can find me on trolling on the Chris Redfield forum when my copy comes. I had a chance to try him and I’m lovin that magnum! Super Skrull is definitely a good choice too.

MvC3 isnt for me. If people want to complain about a cheap charcter then they should focus on Sent instead of Fei. 100% damage combos, are you serious?! Yeah I will be trading in the game soon. So much for having the game a week early.

Lol jason, that’s how the game is designed; there are a handful of characters that can do 100% combos (some depend on who you’re facing). Other characters can really mess you up like Abel does in SSF4. I believe the devs said awhile ago that they wanted the game to be a bit unbalanced for the fun of it. End of the day, you gotta look at it as something completely different and try to enjoy it for that. I agree that SSF4 will be more fun IMO though.

BTW, have you had a chance to try the Marvel PDP yet? I’ve heard some good reviews about it.
