yeah but when doing a naked tenshin, non ex version works just fine, that’s what I meant
I don’t really use much meter outside of FADC. I gota burn it on something
I usually burn it on flamekick ex for antiair
Is there a working version of the frame trap list in the master guide ?
And is this considered a frame trap ? At 8:36 after rekkas .

Yeah, that’s a 2 frame frame trap. The only problem is it’s a little risky since the cl fierce is -7 on block unless you cancel to jab rekka. Basically to make it safe at all I guess you can do cl.jab then cl.fierce xx jab rekka and confirm into the other rekkas if you ch them.
Hmm, so what are some effective frame traps to beat crouch techs ? What should I be looking for in a frame trap ?
One of my favorites (Which on hit can link) is Cr. Mp > Cr. Lp . I don’t know why but people always fall for it in the middle of blockstun. Life.
st.mp two times in a row lol.
Is his c.HP a really good move? Because I seem to enjoy using it. and why is it I find it super hard to do his ultra in mid combo. when it’s really simple…
ONE MORE THING, any shortcuts for executing chicken wing?
1f actually. Frame trap gaps are calculated by taking the start up of the frame trap normal and subtracting the block advantage of the previous move and 1f (because the last frame of startup is also the first active frame). So in this case the math would look like 4 - 2 - 1 = 1.
This. Massive frame advantage and it can be confirmed into cr. LP xx Rekkas or sweep.
cr. HP is a great whiff punish. Use it if you can’t quite whiff punish with LP Rekkas. The latter is better though since it leads to more damage, knocks down and has better startup.
i dont think you can do 2 stmp in a row due to the pushback, not sure have to check, haven’t played for a while.
Not 2 in a row per se, but you walk forward a little to feint a throw after the first one was blocked and do the second st.mp.
I just got my ass pounded inside out by F.Champ’s Sim, Seth, and his trollfei T.T
Any pointers on all 3 matchups?
wakeup ultra
wakeup flame kick
the time when you’re on your feet, walk forward and grab ALL match
guaranteed victories
Nah, man. I did all of that. He has the secret autoblock gem… D:
ONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
but anyways
This is taken from the Master guide

[]General strategy:
----> Spacing and strong footsies play is important in this match. Maintain a fixed gap between yourself and the opponent so that you can whiff punish Rekkas, intercept CW, or anti-air as they come. Do NOT back yourself into the corner purposely. Maintain your ground by chipping on occasion with Rekka x1 and pushing with cr.HP/f+HK; only use CW on occasion. Stay mid-screen for forward/backward mobility, but try to force your opponent slightly closer to his side so that his Rekkas will push you back further from him (relieving pressure on wake-up). Once you gain the life lead, turtle with cr.MK and occasional pokes. Remember that walking backwards is the most effective tool against Fei in general, but always keep positioning in mind.
[]Useful OS’s:
---->vs. CW: cr.LK > Flame Kick/Ultra 1
---->vs. CW 50/50: OS cr.LK/Throw Tech > OS Rekka
---->vs. wake-up Flame Kick: Daigo OS (safe-jump > DP)
[]Ideal range:
----> Right outside of LP Rekka range or inside enough to make LP Rekka unsafe (defensive). Roughly max cr.HP range (offensive).
[]Guaranteed Punishes:
----> Blocked Rekka x2: cr.LP xx Rekka or cr.MP/MK [spacing dependent]
----> Blocked Rekka x3: Ultra 1 or walk-up cl.HP xx Flame Kick
----> Blocked/whiff Flame Kick: HK CW > cl.HP/LP xx Flame Kick/Rekka
[*]Counters/Pro Tips/FAQ:
----> Lv1 Focus can often crumple a Rekka if you interrupt the early part of the recovery/start up of 2nd hit
----> Fei can be juggled by CW x3 in the corner
----> cr.MK is a strong counter-poke against Rekkas. Buffer Super.
----> cr.MK/HP can dodge wake-up HK CW and allow for a punish (MK is faster to recover and can be OS’d with MK Flame Kick). cr.MK also works to dodge CW in general (mid-screen and closer).[/details]

it seems like the discussion threads for Dhalsim & Seth have been removed, and I’m not confident enough in my Fei yet to provide any meaningful insight
Seth is harder than Sim IMO. The secret to Seth is avoiding his Heavy kick mix up and making smart back dashes and taking half his bar. Having studied video’s. The pro’s seem to like to focus dash that heavy kick, which isn’t usually recommended for a jump in attack I know, but it’s so ambiguous that your better off taking the chance.
Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7QeQttW4BM at these times. 1.19, 2.14 , 3.07, 5.06, 5.08, 6.12, 7.05, 7.16 and the best one! 7.56. Notice the smart use of backdash and focus to get seth to use an unsafe move or regain position and swing the momentum back to Fuudo.
Seth always wants to commit to attacking as he has to be played risky, so you have to take a bit of a chance. If you sit there and try and block he will usually run trains over you. Ultra 1 is a no brainer in this match unless you really can’t deal with the cross overs.
The Fei Long mirror is like all mirrors, whoever fucks up first loses, so just make sure your not throwing out 2 x rekka. Fei Long’s standing Fierce beats a lot of his own offensive options and specials, try it in training and you’ll be surprised at what it stuffs clean. If in doubt save for Super, if the player is smart they’ll stop throwing rekka’s and you’ll take away their main pressure tool. I don’t like CW in the mirror at all, they know what you know when your both sitting at 0 on block, so your putting yourself in a 50/50 for no reason. It’s a turtle fest with spurts of attacking play when you see a gap.
what’s this I heard from some random guy about Fei having a way of making his 2nd EX Rekka being +1 on block? Was this guy mistaken???
When you guys say meaty, what does it mean ? Is it timing a move’s active frames to hit them as they wakeup ? How does a meaty beat a throw ?
And when I’m down to last bit of health and opponent is trying to chip me out with a projectile, is there any move or anything I can do to avoid it ?
Yeah it’s just timing your move late to hit them as the last active frames are coming out. Characters with bad wake up options suffer from meaty’s as most of the time they don’t have a move that will counter or beat your meaty set up. Bison springs to mind.
Chip damage - Only EX CW, or Ultra 1. You can EX Rekka some fireballs if your standing, and although this looks incredibly bad ass, it’s not really recommended…! Another sneaky option is to “not” quick stand if your on the ground but not been decked by an Un-tech. (sweep, throw etc etc)
Never underestimate the stupidity of online warriors though, you should never try and chip someone on wake up unless you are full screen with a projectile and the opponent cannot counter (Sagat for example) . I get sick of mind fucking Yun’s who think it’s a good idea to EX lunge punch from full screen. You should alway’s play the game out, unless your chip set up is full proof.
