Fei Long Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Can Fei os foward teleports with rekka and ultra?

You technically could, but I’m not exactly sure how useful it is. Particularly Rekka OS, Ultra OS might be a worthwhile since you’ll get big damage either way.

I’m assuming you’re talking about Akuma / Evil Ryu Teleports. I’m less sure about Dhalsim / Seth style teleports.

Yeah when i was fighting a bison he did a foward teleport when i did os ultra, so he avoided the ultra, yeah and Akuma players do foward teleport alot so i wanna know how to punish them.

A simple basic punish is to just Rekka them on reaction, Akuma and Evil Ryu are especially easy to do so. From my experience, Bison’s seems to be hit or miss, I tend to choke on punishing his for some reason.

For Dhalsim or Seth, you could OS Rekkukyaku / Chicken Wing.

What’s Fei Long’s best Anti-Air when you can’t use FK? I was playing a Gief and he J.HK’d me all day. I eventually just focused all of his jump-ins, but that can’t be his best Anti-Air, can it?

standing hk from mid range and st hp from close range, but their not really reliable.

So, should I just block it? And also, what should I be using EX Rekka for? I usually use EX Rekka to reset a bad situation but I’ve seen a lot of top players use it differently.

You never want to “just block” a Zangief flying at you. Take a trade if you must, just push st.HK, or even far st.MK is a decent anti-Zangief jump tool. It can catch him at angles st.HK might miss at.

I rarely use EX Rekkas, but when I do, it’s usually to just maintain pressure. Particularly on characters I don’t want to risk letting slip from my grasp, like Guile or Sagat. Also, if I go for something like a cross-up into st.HP, and for whatever reason felt I didn’t hit confirm I’ll just cancel into EX Rekka to be abit more safe.

Seems thread entire fei forum is slowly moving

Starnab consistent C. Mp rekka = 4 hit combo. But this doesn’t work for me anyone have insight/ details

Works only on counterhit.

Which rekka strength should I use

Lp rekka only works for this CH combo

I only just realised by mistake today you can go to st-lp then cr-lp rekka after the CH cr-mp.

Looked cool…

Sorry but what does cl mean ? I get cr and st but cl just stumps me .

cl. is close.

So CW to cl.HP in stead of st.HP, because standing HP doesn’t work.

Ah I see thanks for clarification

can any1 help, i try to do cr.LK x2 + st.LP x2 into the reka, but cant seem to link them. i tried it with all the three punch rekas but cant link them with that combo, but only when i try to do it with st.LP into MP reka does it only link.

It probably has to do with how quickly you’re hitting the normals. Fei’s jabs and shorts all chain and you can’t cancel into a special from a chained normal. To account for this you need an extra slight pause between the last two normals so that you are sure you link the last one and then cancel into rekkas. For example, my standard meaty combo and typically bnb is like this:
cr.lk
cr.lk
st.lp
<slight pause>
cr.lp xx hp rekkas

That is, the shorts and standing jab are chained and then I make sure I link the cr.jab then cancel into rekkas. This is really easy with the st.jab as the second to last normal since it has so much advantage on hit. If you want to do something like cr.lk, cr.lk, cr.lp xx rekkas it’s much tighter because (IIRC, I may be wrong about this but I can’t check the frame data ATM) cr.lk is only +3 on hit so in order to make the cr.lp link and not chain it’s an unplinkable 1f link since if you chain that you can’t cancel into the rekkas.

Sorry if that seems a bit wordy or confusing, let me know if you need more explanation or anything.

I seem to have difficulty “finishing off” my opponent. Perfect examples: last night I was facing a very good Cody. Got him in the corner and whittled him down to last of his life bar. He blatently jumps in with a cross-up, links his bnb to U1; boom, I lose the round and the match.

Vs. Gouken last night- I kept him in the corner the whole match with next to no life left, but he comes back with his EX dive kick (not sure of the name, it’s similar to Akuma’s), juggle to U1, and boom, I’m done.

It’s a little frustrating, that’s all. Just needed to vent.
