Fei-Long and your BP/PP

5044 PP  These are tears of joy.

Ever going to play Ranked again? Scratch that, ever turning your Xbox on again?

As for your question Mignon, there’s a few different ways that Fei can pressure opponents. I’d say that the main ways would be Rekka pressure, which should be accompanied by good hit confirming ability; knockdown mix-up games; and block string frame traps. I believe the stickied ‘Read This First’ thread will either have in it, or link you to a thread that does, the sort of information your looking for! Where are you from btw?

Lol yes I’ll still play ranked. It doesn’t make sense to hit the number and stop there I suppose. Next goal is to 5500. It’s going to be painstaking at this point since point wins become more skewed, and fewer people are around to fight.

awesome!!! congrats! im jelious lol

Same here. I don’t know if it’s just my region but I’m constantly fighting a losing battle. Teleporting jump back Bison? Turtle Balrog? or how about I nice dose of crouching Guile…with a hint of poking Vega!? I feel like I’m just playing a game of black jack hoping my cards turn out in the 50/50. Picking Sagat and chucking Fireballs is almost a relief sometimes. I don’t have to spend 60 seconds a round focus dashing fire balls or neutral jumping.

This is from a character that’s on his way to being OP S Tier? Well then I truly am shit at Street Fighter after 20 years! lol

Yea I do understand where your coming from. but just try to remember that all the hardships will eventually lead to you figuring the best ways (for you) to beat those tactics. Personally trying to keep my head in the right place and not getting frustrated (which is the most common problem I have which leads to me dieing) is that hardest part about those match-ups. Keep your head up man!

11326 BP, 4003 PP, got here by beating a Chun Li and 3 Bisons!
God I love this game. Next objective is to be in the Top 10 of European Feis

You and me both, I used to play the original in the arcade. Pressure sensitive buttons, what the hell were they thinking?

But goddamn landing a cr.mk into Super for a victory is so satisfying.

Congrats man!!!

I try doing 2x cr. LK > st. LP > cr. LP > rekkas, but I think it’s hard to link the st. LP into cr. LP into rekka. And yeah, I usually do knockdown mix-up games. It’s one of my bigger strengths, and block string frame traps are horrible from my part. I’m not sure what fundamentals are, but a lot of people talk about them, and I just know that I don’t have them. I suck at zoning completely. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m from Denmark (PS3 if that’s what you meant).

“Fundamentals” is a pretty general term, but it usually means spacing, footsies, zoning, anti-airing, and defense (blocking on time, and in the right direction). I’m sure you have them, they just might need some work :bgrin:

Yeah, what nosone said. And yeah, I meant where you were from so we may have been able to play together and I could’ve helped you out, but I don’t have a PS3 so :’( Maybe you could post in the ‘Lets do that again some time!’ thread and see if anyone would like to play a bit with you??

My blocking tends to be very good, but lag usually makes blocking mix-ups a little hard. I tend to block in just the last second, and of course that won’t work with even the slightest delay.
Spacing and zoning is something I don’t even consider, except if someone is cornered, and even then it’s just awful. Footsies aren’t very good either.
Anti-airing is a little rusty, as I tend to do the moves a little too slowly (or maybe that just might be due to online - I feel Fei’s FK is very time restricted). Do you have any ideas for what I can use as anti-air? I try to use cl. HP for when they’re close, but that’s pretty tricky because sometimes it comes out as far standing HP. I don’t know what else to use than HP and FK though.

Would you maybe be able to help me if I uploaded some replays via YouTube or something?

Oh, also, another question: I’ve been using stick for about 4-5 months (although 2 of them I haven’t even played), and I sit with it on my lap. I sometimes really fail to do the rekkas properly though. Like, even as a punish after a focus attack I tend to have trouble with them.
Do you guys ever mess up your rekkas as a punish? I don’t know if it’s because I sit with the stick in my lap (because I tend to do the rekka motion very harshly, and it could be that I’m too rough with it and it makes me mess it up) or if it’s because mashing rekkas is bad, but some advice would be appreciated for a noob like me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Gouken is done in C to Shining C. That makes 10 characters down, 25 to go.

I now have a bit more knowledge of matchups thanks to this achievement. First let me preface this by saying that Gouken is an incredibly boring character, but because he deals so much damage in punish scenarios it’s really easy to rack up points with him. I only knew the basic setups and frame traps, and I rocketed up to 1700 PP from 1200 PP in an hour. I think I only lost 5 or 6 games with him.

Now that I know Gouken’s spacing requirements and his anti-air angles, it will be easier to jump in on him with Fei Long. Gouken’s backdash is probably the worst in the game and if you mix up your normal attacking angles it’s really hard for him to get away. Lastly empty jumping with Fei Long into a crouching short will work well on Gouken because their natural response is to use the High Counter on a jump-in.

What do you find boring about him?

I think it’s because am not the patient zoning type. Gouken has a lot of tricks, but his only fun combos come if the opponent messes up royally. So the entire time I am playing, I am doing “false combos” and just waiting for a knockdown so I can dive kick it. Really dull IMO.

Yeah for me I got over 5kbp is over like 5 months! I feel special! I still get scrubbed out and drop a cool 100pp and BP but oh well I went back to rank to see how high I can really get.

Yes, definately. If you post some vids in the stickied Video thread there’ll be plenty of people who might like to contribute to your game  Speaking of which, I may start doing the same.

Far st.HK is good for those really bad jump-ins and for floaty types. This works wonders against Gief and Honda actually. I’d stay away from cl.HP most of the time if you can get away with using Flame Kick instead. Outside of those three, there isn’t much else Fei has, but those three should be enough.
