Yep stealing anything that has Doom or Strider in it haha. Amazing stuff as usual.
TY my friends!
Love the way people are utilizing THCs to make people think twice about mashing hidden missiles button
Sick video Marvelo =D. Enjoyed it very much.
Ty my fellow Centurion!
So good.
Some recent matches from our regional tournament TNS. Masta CJ among others were in attendance. Got 3rd. Here are some of my matches. Expect a lot of drops since it was 5:30am and I was mentally exhausted.
What deal with the devil did you have to make to get your Dante that good? Amazing stuff as usualâŚ
Ooh
I like your technique to take care of Wolvie at the beginning. Consider it stolen
Hahaha. Practice man and patience. I wanted to drop Dante so many times from losing, but you take your losses and eventually you get good with the character. Still got a lot to learn with him!
Yup! Utilize the plink method to escape the opening gambit then airdash j.H away to setup shop. I feel that Wolverine is already not great, but if he has Plasma Beam itâs fucking really hard. Your movement has to be on point.
Yeah, Iâve been drilling that matchup a lot lately, and I feel like itâs the kind of match that swings in either characterâs favor in an instant. If you maintain space right, youâre always at advantage. You give that space up once, youâre dead. =/
That OS helps so much to get things started though.
My answer to that match upâŚ99 second snapbackâŚthey WILL be pressing buttons. lol
I definitely wouldnât do that outside of ranked⌠except maybe as a tool to keep the Wolverine honest in the rest of the set.
TBH, snaps are super underratedâŚyou would be surprised how good it isâŚitâs not only good for online. As for the keeping Wolverine honest thing, it does. Especially because if you prove that you can get the kill on the next character coming in, they will not be happy to have Wolverine anywhere except on point from then on.
I dunno, in a tournament, where you can only afford to lose two games, I wouldnât bank the first one on the Wolverine pressing buttons right at âFIGHTâ unless Iâm absolutely certain theyâre going to do it. I know itâs safe on block and everything but my team is really meter-reliant ._. lol
Also the last time I successfully did a 99 second snap and won all I got was a Vergil/Strider counterpick ._______. lol
edit: Actually, if you can react to your opponent (especially using audio cues irl), itâs pretty great.
edit^2: Just tested reaction snap against Noah Solisâ Hulk jumping in. Easy as fuck to do and brought in Vergil. By the way, I dunno why I thought that matchup was in Hulkâs favor, Nova bodies Hulk.
Thatâs exactly the reason you do it. itâs the same reason you bionic arm at the start of the round too. Youâre establishing precedent in hopes of a future investment. Furthermore, you do it on the -first round- because by later rounds a smarter opponent will have a sense of potential desperation or not. First round they donât have that; theyâre testing the waters as much as you are. Not only that, Novaâs snapback is +1 on block.
Ok so I attended a tournament in Portugal last Saturday and got completely bodied by a Morridoom player. I played rather badly out of not knowing the matchup at all and simply fucking up things I shouldnât have fucked up and frankly never really do except this time.
Aside from the rather obvious things (like that dropped combo right at the start how the hell did I let that happen), what can you say were the turning points in those matches? Also about that early x-factor on round one, I used it so I would get morrigan out of the picture AND get frank leveled up. I have the damage down to the milimeter so Iâd have been able to get the momentum my team so desperately needs. What can you point out about my performance there?
That morridoom player was so bad in terms of execution and neutral game. For him, it seemed that he was more content with spamming soul fists rather than mixing it up unless necessary, e.g. Ammyâs counter, you being super jump height and all he did was horizontal soul fists
One thing i did notice was that when you pulled up Ammyâs projectile counter, he went Shell Kick crazy. Maybe you could trick him.
Lots of air dashing by Nova, not too sure if thatâs ok.
For Frank, itâs a bad matchup. Survival Techniques if you got Morrigan but need to escape the hidden missiles
the early x factor stumble sounds like nerves so it goes away with experience i guess
Nah it wasnât really nerves I just really fucked it up. I was mostly calm through all of it. Also that player was using morridoom for like a week or so.
Iâll be blunt; your mentality for approaching the matchup was completely wrong. Admittedly, this is a match thatâs difficult to theory fight and be confident in your assertions, but nevertheless thereâs plenty to point out thatâll hold water.
For one, you were way too heavily focused on approaching. this is a matchup that wants you to box jump because youâll just get bopped for your troubles. Not only that, but you want to approach via ground or jump height due to your assists. Morrigan thrives in those regions of the screen better than anything.
When you did try to play more defensively, you still did it on the ground. Take to the skies; Morrigan has less screen control at SJ height, Nova has mobility (and not just air dashes and flight; think rocket punches and gravimetrics too). Yeah, you may still have to block and still get bopped at SJ height. But itâll likely hurt the same or less than if you did at the ground. And sheâll certainly have to be more mindful of fireball placement in that instance.
Everybody says ride out the astral, and with a character like Nova you should be able to do that without too much damage if youâre patient. If you want to press the offensive, either look for situations where you can call assists while approaching at SJ height (after getting hit by missiles for example) or via a red health pulse. Iâd say red health H pulse for defense, but your team doesnât have the durability to compete in a firefight. Stick to L/M red health; itâll go through 2 soul fists and keep going.
If Nova dies donât keep Frank in, look for a DHC into Ammy. You can fish for a shopping cart and then safely do Mist. She can handle the matchup x10 times better than a level 1 Frank can.
