FEEL HEAVEN'S WRATH: Thor Thread Reloaded

Random m mighty smash is easily punishable on block. Only the h one is safe on block…

Are you talking about in-air? Because I sure haven’t been punished a lot for it, and the guide shows both air M and air H Strike as having the same advantage on block (+13)

Mighty smash not strike. Was in response to satsui. Hell a abuse mighty strike.

Yeah, but I responding to punishing Akuma’s Tatsu. You should never be trying to use Smash for pressure, even H Mighty Smash because half the time, you’ll end up flying over the opponent to get punished.

OH lol. Hella confusion. I guess I must have misread it. Yeah for akuma tatsu I agree then. Push block once midscreen then immediate M might smash since launcher trades for some stupid reason. Or in corner pushblock twice.

I may be playing thor too much. last night online My thor was the character wreckign shop on everyones teams, not my wesker or dormammu. Got love the random come back factor of full life level 3 xf thor.

^ do you kill them all with one combo lol i jsut realized that would be a problem with other people haha all the power to us i guess

I just thought I’d post telling you all that if you are in any way dubious about the goodness of air mighty strike then oh lord how wrong you are. Just work it into your game. Aside from some slightly sluggish startup that move is just amazing.

Nullifies projectiles, allows for a combo off it, huge frame advantage on block. Amazing!

I really like using Hulk with Thor, too bad I don’t know how to play him. Gamma Crush is just so nice for DHCing from Thor.

Taking a quick break from Thor. He has been the only character I have been playing with constantly since release… noticed i keep falling into patterns with him which I really don’t want to do. So im substituting Trish for the time being and will probably come back to Thor in the next couple weeks a little more fresh. My Thor really hasn’t been bad at all… I guess with my personality I like to mix up my character choices.

i’ll hopefully have some nice recorded matches of my avengers team for you guys to critique here pretty soon <3

having a fest tonight at my place

Nice can’t wait to see  Our Video section is picking up

i’ll try to get the videos up this weekend - recorded about 3 hours worth but i’ll probably only upload a few matches - too much footage to go through!!!

was playing with thor against a zero player the other day and thor’s air mighty strike M traded with zero’s s.H or f.H dont remember which one, anyone know why? cuz i didnt expect MS to trade with a normal…

Cause Zero’s sword slashes have some dam good properties, but M Strike is the only way I can hit him, I found the M strike was trading with Dante’s sword swings last night was kind of driving me crazy.

ok another question, are armored normals immune to throws? because a sentinel’s cr.m just went right through my Mighty punish, dont think that i was out of range.

Most of Zero’s normals are heavily multi-hit, so if the Strike’s active frames ended while one of the hits was still coming out, it’s possible it would trade.

For Zangief2000: Who are you good with? I think that’s the main thing to consider. I use Thor/Doom as well, and I’ve found good combos with Spencer, Tron, Hulk, Ammy, Taskmaster, and Wesker, to name a few.

At the start of the night I would’ve said that my order of character goodness would be Cap Thor Iron Man but at the end of the night my Iron Man was doing more work than my Thor - he’s really tricky to utilize! I learned by the end how to start getting in 3 hours later hahahaha

playing against taskmaster and ammy isn’t easy for poor thor =(

Taskmaster is one of Thors toughest matchups IMO as well. the 2 teams I lost to at the Salty Runbacks in Seattle both had a Tasky on them.

Thor/Hulk has a hefty bag of DHC-trick options… Very odd to play, though.

Still loving playing as the Asgardian.

Landing a MH or a reset just makes you feel like a boss.

I’m not sure I’d have fun playing as some other characters, where the risk/reward of going on offense means you basically go on autopilot until something hits, then finish the combo. I prefer to think a little bit in my fighting games. I think it explain why I get bodied at first by high ranking randoms online, but give me a few rounds to download them and I start wrecking them. Once you get past their initial BS, they are incapable of thinking up new plans of attack.

Anyway. Back to the game.
