Well, if the opponent is knocked down, cr. lk’s, back+mk, mp xx hp xx hadouken, throw, or any delayed version of these are a much better mix up because of their speed and hit confirmation.
Cr. mk is basically not hit confirmable, and UOH will not link to super easily unless it’s meaty or under super specific position.
It was like the Ken didn’t even die by the cr. mp to super. So, it wasn’t as if he was down to low hp after the last throw. He could’ve definitely ate a few more throws before dieing. And if he had blocked the cr. mp correctly, he might have been able to escape with a jump ex tatsu or some other thing. I know this would’ve still been risky, but I had explained earlier that being in a bad situation is just asking for a horrible guessing game.
Yeah, but the first 6 throws made the Ken look stupid to begin with. It was just the lack of patience that killed him when he tried to grab on the 7th occasion for the cr. mp to super was basically adding another 6 throws worth of damage.
Hmm, but TU does 170 damage and would be punishable if you block correctly, where a throw does 140 damage but not punishable if you do tech correctly.
But Chun has the easiest time backdashing everything anyways. She still can get hit, but Sagat can’t option select cr. lk-TU her unlike others’ backdashes.
But all in all, this is too much theory fighter. I did not make up the tactic of eating the throw and it was just something I overheard of a long time ago that I now try to use in my game. And this grab/srk 50/50 is just a stupid guessing game, and it becomes an even stupider guessing game when the person can FADC.
But there is a way to sort of have a slight advantage in this situation. When put in this grab/srk mix up, you can just charge up a focus attack. If they throw, whatever, you were going to get thrown if you were trying to block anyways. However, if they do the srk, you will just absorb it and then you can dash out and go for a punish. Also, even if they srk and then FADC, you can just release the focus attack to hit them and then backdash out; this causes them to lose two meters, getting damaged, and you backdashing out to safety.
