Hello, my name is Romeo. I am this tournament’s organizer. If you have any questions/comments, feel free to ask.

REMINDER - Under all circumstances, please do NOT bring outside food and drink inside. Finish it outside the venue before you come in. One of the owners has respectfully voiced her concerns about this, so let’s try to cater to our hosts’ concerns. -All characters allowed
-Double elimination format - 2/3 rounds, 2/3 games.
-Grand finals will be at the discretion of the players in finals. If no agreement can be reached, a coin toss decision will be invoked (heads, 2/3 - tails, 3/5). We haven’t had issues with this before, but just in case.
-If a player loses a game in a set, they can change their character. Winner can change Ultra, but must choose Ultra before the loser has to pick theirs (Evo rule).
-$10 entry fee - 8 to pot, 2 to venue
-70/20/10 payout
-PS3 setups
-BYOS

If you want to you can establish hosting multiple games unless that’s too much work, is there going to be a venue fee? I can vouch a PS3 set up as well.

I’m still feeling out the multiple games deal. I’d rather have Marvel and SSFIV on the same day, but since I’m currently running SSFIV as a monthly, I still have to see how things will go. For now, though, for February 18th, Marvel will be the main event. Regarding the venue fee, FOR NOW the proposed breakdown would be $5 to the pot and one purchase minimum from the venue in lieu of a venue fee.

Alright guys, $7 entry fee with 5 going to pot and 2 going to venue. One drink minimum is no longer in effect, but if you are spectating, I ask you to please buy something if you can.

Bring your own stick / controller. If you’re accustomed to 360 pad, you’ll have to adjust to something else. If you’re bringing your PS3 controller, please bring the USB cable so it doesn’t interfere with matches later. If you play on stick but don’t have one, ask someone to lend you one at the tournament.

I would love to come and cover this event and your local scene in general. The idea of the series is that I get an inside look at the local fighting game scene in any country/city I’m visiting so far I’ve covered: Hamburg, Berlin, Holland, London, Japan and just finished filming in Costa Rica. Another aim of each video is to encourage people to come down and check out their local fighting game scene.

I need to get a ride and a borrow a stick if possible since I’m travelling with my family and am all the way from New Zealand (via Costa Rica :slight_smile:

I might give you a pm Romeo if I can find a way there and back. I’ll be staying close to the Golden gate bridge on and can chip for gas. Will also conduct some interviews on the way if people are keen like I did in Holland on the way to their DN2 nationals.
