umm so i read a couple of pages here the common thing is ppl basiclly saying SF4 is really bad some of the stuff are true but others not really getting them , how is sf4 graphics in anyway bad? i think they are amazing and ultra is not that much of a comback factor just cuz u have it doesnt mean it is easy to do it on your opponent and i really think the ultra and super mechanic is good
anyway i agree with the dizzy bar from 3rd strike i think it would have been nice to have it on sf4
anything dlc realated
they should try to include a tutorial mode or something other than just trails
the training online mode and trainning while waiting in endless are nice ideas too…
hideous models
graphics very outdated compared to other games that are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more impressing (the fact that many reviewers said that it had beutiful graphics its plain hillarious), hell even some games from the old generation look better than sf4 (LOK: Defiance, Shadow of the Colosus, MGS3)
Stopped reading right there.
Linking you this so you may educate yourself.
Also linking Big-Mex, because the man makes too many good points about SF’s direction.
i think you guys got it wrong i know the models are not good viper breast always looked wierd when i said graphics i mean the backround the hadoken colour and how it genrally looks the fire in some of the moves and the electricity on chars stuff like that it is not the best but i enjoy them and the game in genreal
Highly recommend you checked the wiki. The only thing i say is this if your playing online than speed is beats with lag tactics, outside of that speed is mediocre IMO.
(refuses to say anything about SF4 in general)
I don’t exactly want to get argument about that game either, but since this is something I too mentioned, I figure it’s directed towards me.
First things first, please space better. I’m not going to be a taskmaster–I see you!–and expect people to capitalize or use good grammar or even spell correctly on the (sigh) Internet, but spacing is rather necessary for ease of reading. Even in something as small as what you posted, it just tends to make you look breathless and not really like someone who should be paid attention.
Secondly, liking something and saying it’s good isn’t exactly a convincing argument if you’re trying to take on its detractors. You are allowed to dislike things that other people like and vice versa, though I point out here that, unlike many people seem to believe, opinions can be wrong. That said, since this is more of a subjective matter, I’m not going to say that here (yet).
Next, when it comes to the Ultra mechanics, the way they were implemented makes them comeback mechanics not because they always hit, but because a) you pretty much always get one when you’re losing and b) they generate the sudden, constant threat of having them, forcing the player who was previously out-playing the other person to basically back off and stop winning unless they want to get screwed up. Now, as I before, it’s necessarily a bad thing to have to change tactics when something happens in battle like your opponent getting a full super bar or even an EX portion. However unlike the greater bits of that meter, **Ultras aren’t earned and they do not incur risk **(unless you whiff one of the ones that have hideous recovery) for the reward they give out.
If SF4 actually forced you to use focus attacks to get Ultras, then I really don’t think people would complain as much about them beyond the length of some and how some almost always hit/work, like Rufus’s second Ultra, Abel’s Breathless & Rose’s Soul Satellite pre-nerf and, technically, Juri’s Feng Shui Engine; there was a reason those first three were nerfed. At the very least, it seems like it would have forced Capcom to examine Focus Attacks more and fix some of the more awkward or wonky or just out right bad ones like Juri’s, Adon’s and C. Viper’s.
Finally, please explain the bold, especially since as much as SF4 has been talked about in this thread, whether implicitly or explicitly, I don’t really anyone speaking poorly of its super mechanic (outside of, you know, Gen’ei Jin now being one of those supers).
I see. There’s a wiki?
…Why am I even surprised about that?
Also, I just realized that sadly I probably haven’t played that game in 5+ years since I think that’s how long my Dreamcast controllers have been broken. Profound sadness.
Oh wow they did change Viper’s bust size lol
(Sigh. I really need to do work today, but I might as well reply to this before I forget like always.)
I thought that Crimson Viper’s breast reduction was pretty common knowledge since I think some people pointed it out before vanilla even dropped, though to be fair that’s a couple of years ago already. However, between that, my seeing a lot of people commenting how she was back (problems) to normal when she was revealed for MvC3 and how…conspicuous they are in her ending…yeah, I thought it was exoteric.

Haha. I initially laughed when I read the title and then I laughed even harder when I realized which Kayin this was half-way through it.
While not exactly sure this is what Kratos was getting at (if he even knows), this is extremely interesting, especially as someone who’s been trying to take “notes” on what works more and more in fighting game. I’m still reading and currently at the Buriki One part, but I just figured I’d say “thanks” before I forgot.
How did we go from discussion of actual mechanics to bickering over breasts?
(How is merely raising the issue bickering?)
Even as silly an issue as even Kayin himself admits it is to focus on, that doesn’t mean it can’t be taken into account when someone brings up SF4 graphical aesthetics overall. That seems fairly obvious even if the cup size by itself is relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things; just because it’s unimportant doesn’t mean it’s any less ugly or silly-looking and it’s arguably important from at least a marketing perspective.
Street Fighter 4 mechanics to Street Fighter 4 character design
just cuz i said i like sf4 graphics damn…
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
as a litchi main, i would like to say that litchi’s difficulty is overstated
i agree with lordraptor that carl is harder. i dunno if i’d agree about mu though. maybe.
This this this!
Unfortunately, Capcom won’t prioritize this area seeing fighting games is only a fraction of their entire franchise they have, all console and handheld main.
I doubt they have the freedom to work and improve these kinds of things under restricted deadlines and limited resources.
I wish Blizzard or Valve made all fighting games
Blizzard:
“Do 1’000 punches to earn fireball power!
Equip this gear if you want to stand a chance!
Pay us monthly rentals to be allowed to play online!”
Valve:
“Sequel is ready in 6 months.
… ok, 12 months.
… ok, 3 years?”
“BUY HATS!”
Id be more concerned with the balancing process that would occur with blizzard.
-trolls suck-
9:1 matchups would be “working as intended.” And those would be after a “balance patch.”
Or every matchup would be normalized.
Just thought of something else.
Id rather not see character rosters exceed 20 characters. Excluding vs games obviously.
-trolls suck-
If it were WoW style balancing, those 9:1 matchups would be the result of normalization.
