I play Chun…

@ NitroFrost thanx for your comment…
I think i have to re name this thread. lol
I kinda read the replies and thought to myself “character loyalty” that kinda sounds full on? lol
Loved Dudley since day one of SSF4, never turned my back against him no matter how hard it is for him to stay in on the opponent.
I wish more people would be loyal to something else other than Ryu and Ken. I’m sick of fighting the same characters everyday.
Its not like I chose Ryu because half the world uses him. I like his character as a whole.
No character loyalty.
Don’t even have playstyle loyalty.
I just mess around trying everyone out until I find someone I like playing with in that game. I think Dudley is the only character I play in 2 different games. It’s not even if they’re good or not, the character just has to feel “right” I guess.
im usually like this, i usually try to find the char that gets me the more winnings and i have more fun playing with despite the character gameplay type, or tier position (sometimes i regret this, like with CT Tager X/ )
BUUUUT, i have sinned of character loyalty too
i have been maining chipp since GG The Missing Link. (though i have some other chars that i use)
and i still main tager despite all
I try to find the character that I feel comfortable playing with. In very rare occasions I pick among the top tier characters in order to be competitive with others. Like I never played Tekken for real before, I’m giving T6 a try in order to help grow the local Tekken community, I decided between Bob, Steve and Law. I picked Steve.
I do have favorite character whom I try in each version of a game. Like Sakura and Guy for example. I managed to main Sakura in A2 and now in IV cuz I both liked her and she felt right for me.
I always pick the “Ryu” character first when I’m learning a new fighting game. I play Ryu in a few games though, mostly ST and A2.
But some people do have character loyalty, Jchensor for example, I’m pretty sure he will stick to Cammy + someone in SFxTK. He plays Cammy cuz he truly likes the char. Also Gief players (maybe it’s the grappler thing) usually stick with Gief in many different games. And I respect that, as well as I respect people who only pick top.
It was to me too, but if it is entirely for aesthetic reasons I can respect it. I mean who am I to question how someone gains enjoyment from playing fighters? If it’s for the sake of some vague concept of “loyalty” then it’s still pretty funny though. Only because it’s vague, and not for the feeling itself.
I’ve stuck to Vega since SF2 CE and I will never stop maining him…I dont care what they nerf him with ill never change…I found that any other character I try to use…I use them like vega lol…I main Twelve in SF3
I stick with the characters whose playstyles interest me the most.
I tend to have an open relationship with Ryu, I was loyal to him in SFII day, then when alpha came out it was ryu/rose, 3rd Strike Ryu/Elena, SF4: Ryu/Chun/Seth MvC2: lol who uses Ryu? and in MvC3: Shulkie is my babe and I wouldn’t trade swap her for any character not even the high tier ones.
The only other characters that I’ve been loyal to the max have been Terry Bogard since KoF96 til now and Ling Xiaoyu and Heiachi Tekken series
I’m loyal to who I can play the best with. If I feel comfortable playing with some of my favorite characters in fighting games, then that’s only an added bonus.
I always main Dan, even if he isn’t in the game.
cough Sean cough
Damn, girl, I mean… what makes you even THINK you deserve my loyalty when I see you messin’ around with all these other guys??!
Hmm, certain games I’ll stick to the same character, but I think that’s less “loyalty” and more “i can’t play another character as well as I play my main”. Example: Tekken Asuka, SFIV Sakura,
Loyalty really comes into play when someone plays a character and they get nerfed. Obviously loyalty isn’t really an issue when your character is good and remains good…
I’m loyal to winning.
…oh and women.
Pfffft, Delta Red for life.
Usually I just get on and play as anyone who fits my style and/or is fun to play as, but I can be pretty loyal with my characters in various fighting games, mainly because they usually are similar throughout their respective series…

[]Lei-Wulong from Tekken 2 to T5DR. I didn’t like how they changed his floor moves in T6 and I enjoyed playing with him less, so I switched to Leo…
[]Xianghua through all Soul Calibur games. I didn’t like her changes from SC3 to SC4, but I stuck with it and she’s just as fun to play as…
[]Fiona in AH1 and AH3. I did main Maori as well in AH1 but I haven’t really touched her in AH3… :S
[]Litchi in BB. I didn’t really like CS1 Litchi compared to her more-fun CT incarnation, so I didn’t really play BB as much until near the end of its life. I recently made my peace with CS2 despite my reservations and I’m slowly picking the game back up with her…
[*]I always try to put Yuri, Kensou and Whip in my KOF teams where possible. Athena has been in and out of my teams in the past, and I picked up Leona from KOF12, so she’ll probably be my third in KOF13 with Yuri and Kensou…

Methinks the SF games are the only ones where I don’t have a consistent main, mainly because I’ve never played any of them too competitively outside of the SFIV series (where I stayed with Chun-Li throughout). In Alpha 3 I pissed around with Ryu mostly (though Chun-Li was fun there too) and in 3rd Strike I messed around with Chun-Li and Dudley.
O-O~
