Fighters Megamix

You really are the biggest tool on this site.

You realize that shit’s still a big part of VF5 gameplay, right?

To say “everyone could have fun playing” isn’t quite right. It’s certainly offsetting to noobs. In tekken you can pick Bob or Eddie Gordo, hit buttons, and feel good about yourself. In VF, some characters you do that and not a whole hell of a lot happens.

This is why VF is both bad and good. Bad because some people are too intimidated to play it, but good because when you’re good at this game, it makes you feel like a million bucks. It’s worth the practice, is what I’m trying to say.

I was talking to L M Akira at the PNW majors about VF heads didn’t like 5 and one of the points that came up was it was slower than 5. I thought R fixed that?

Didn’t VF5 lose popularity because the arcade was so expensive at first that there weren’t that many machines available?

I agree with those who rate the VF4 games higher than VF5.

In VF4 you had:

-Faster dashing, evading/movement
-Faster throws which made you use more difficult defensive techniques like ETEG more often rather than the simpler fuzzy guarding which you can use a lot more in VF5. There were also a lot of throw counterable moves that became safe in VF5.
-More difficult execution on certain things.

A couple of the new things I don’t like about VF5 are the 0 frame throws and clashes. They did at least get rid of VF4’s ARE (All Round Escape) but you’d have to put in a lot of practice to use it correctly and it’s still beatable.

These changes overall seem to give the lesser player more of a chance of winning in VF5.

What about VF3? I never really got the chance to get into it properly but it feels like the most innovative and I always liked the dodge button, style of movement and art style.

I played the hell out of VF4Evo. Brad burns, Goh, and Vanessa all the way. I have part 5 for the ps3 and love it to death. Its sad that I haven’t touched it in months because I have litterally no competetion what so ever which made my skills go down. My only competetion doesn’t have the game and both of our skills went down. Plus not to mention we don’t have sticks…Anyways I’ll say I enjoyed part 5 the most because I’ve spent the most time with it. I have a good amount of epic fight replays saved from me and my friend.

I got into Virtua Fighter 4 because I had it up to my chin with the brokeness in Tekken. I picked up Virtua Fighter 4 Evo and poured hours into the game. The training mode was so godly and the AI was something else. Then I began to get down advanced techniques like ETEG. The amount of time you put into the game really paid off.

I like 5 a lot too, but 4evo is hard to beat. What’s up with 5 leaving out such a badass training mode too?
