He could be talking about how they look, not everyone is fan of the weird proportions or how some character models look on this game
Or he could be talking about how they feel/play on SF4, i used to main Blanka on CvS2, but on the SF4 series he doesn’t feel right for me, the same happens to Vega who is my main on the SF2 series, he simply doesn’t feel like Vega for me.
Leave me be man. Only combos i know are yuri 2xdp and mary b,f d,df d.
With such huge hitboxes you cant go far.it is a feat even to reach round 4 against better players.
Prefer the more strategic ss2 instead.
That’s fair… I feel that way about Blanka. I main him in every game he’s in except Alpha 3 and when I was playing SSF4, where I mained Hawk in Super and Chun in Arcade Edition instead, and had a pocket Ryu because both of them suck ass in 2012. But Super Turbo, CvS2, CvS1, Hyper Fighting, EX2 and XTekken… Yup, I love that fucking beast. He trolls so good.
To be fair, she is Shoto-like so I think it’s fair to call her a Shoto or at least she can be played like a Shoto to an extent. To me, if I see a character with a fireball and an SRK I think Shoto.
I think there’s a difference between having similar moves to a shoto and actually being one. We all know Ryu and Ken. Classic shotos with similar playstyles, but what about Sakura? She has a fireball and a DP, yet, for the most part, she plays nothing like a shoto. She’s more of an up-close, rushdown-oriented character who depends on her normals and hurricane kick than the other shotos. Her fireball is too small to be used for zoning and her DP isn’t really the go-to move for an anti-air. However, she has the same moves as a shoto like Ryu and Ken, right? Akuma has a fireball and a DP and both are used for what they’re known to be used for, zoning and anti-air. He also has more options than the classic shoto with his demon flip, teleport, etc. His playstyle is more advanced, yet he’s still classified as being a shoto. I think it all comes down to how those similar “shoto” moves can be used rather than identifying them as just a fireball and a DP.
Didn’t think I’d get that many dislikes. You know, it’s easy to like a character designed to be likable. I came into this thread expecting a ton of post about Ryu, Ken, Jin, Terry, Scorpion, K’ [random female character(s)], etc. being favorable while characters like Blanka, Choi, Kuma, Earthquake, Hugo [old, ugly, fat, stupid, etc.] get shafted on. It makes threads like these very bland and predictable, especially when no one gives a reason why they like/hate the character.
