Favorites:
MK1: Kano (At last, one bold character I can relate to)
SF new challengers: Cammy (who cares about her body, its her dramatic background story that matters)
KOF: Yuri, King, Ruy, Robert, Takuma (what is going on in that family)
Last Blade: Hibiki and Akari (I use only those two anyway…). One cool, the other funny, just to break the mood. Plus their power mode supers/cancels are cool. Also Kagami, Mukuro and Setsuna as the coolest dark characters ever.
VS: Demitri, Lei Lei (same as above). Also Jedah, but I dont use him that much.
SS: Nakoruru (I only know to play her anyway…)
Hated:
MK: Liu Kang and Raiden. (Raiden sounds like a washing powder. At least they have funny voices)
SF: T Hawk. (I wonder why he wasnt dropped till now)
KOF: Yori, Kyo, Chris, Yashiro, Chang, Athena, Brian Battler, Goro Daimon, Billy Kane (because I always lose against them)
VS: Aulbath, Q-bee (I wouldnt mind that they are buffed. problem is that they are boring to play with and against)

Fortunately I knew Morrigan straight from VS, instead of MvC. Though I never played the original DS. But even so, at that time BB Hood was the character that struck me the most from the cast. But her T&A ( I mean Morrigan’s not Bulleta’s you paedos!) is countered by her lower mid-tier status and difficulty to use. So no use if you get a hard on but then it drops when you are demolished by the opponents. At least Demitri rules them all!
Morrigan > Demitri. Midnight Bliss is fine and all but gameplaywise he’s more traditional shoto than she is. Anarkis however is hype. Felicia too.
On a technical level, I’m impressed with how Capcom made completely separate transforms for each character when they are hit with the super. I wish more supers were as insane and off-the-wall as that one.
In that case you could have just as easily referred to Anakaris’s curse or something. You’re trying to argue against the people who only know or care about Darkstalkers for the girls, but then as an example of what the series really has to offer you bring up a move that is loved by those same people. There’s no shortage of people out there who seem to like those few transformed sprites more than the actual characters or anything else related to the games themselves.
I hate Cody and Guy. Both are overrated. Anyone with any sense knows the Mayor is the best FF character, then again, how many people even know Cody and Guy are from Final Fight?
I hate every character in KOF that didn’t spawn from some NeoGeo title (since that was the premise of KOF from the start) with the exception of Team Japan and the New Face team. Random thought up characters filling up the roster while classic SNK designs get forgotten or reduce to cameos. At least they put Hwa Jai and Raiden in KOFXIII.
Rock Howard is another overrated character. As if SNK (and fighting games in general) didn’t have enough blondes already. Half the Garou roster is blonde. Did we really need a Terry/Geese hybrid? I’m still trying to figure out who the mother is.
Ibuki comes across as very bland, even now. With all the female ninja designs that came before her (Mai, Kitana, Kunimitsu, Nakoruru) was that really the best Capcom could come up with? A japanese girl in a bland dry-mud colored torned up jumpsuit? Good thing Elena was in New Generation to make the limited female roster look interesting.
Some other annoying stuff:
- weapon-based characters in a game not premised around weapons. (Whip, D.Dark, Yoshimitsu)
- Characters designed to be appealing but have bland movesets (Morrigan, Blair Dame, Jade)
- Little girls who couldn’t possibly do damage with those skinny arms and legs (Sakura, Xiaoyu,)

I pick characters on one of two reasons, all the time.
- Are they top tier?
Examples: 3S Chun, CvS2 Blanka/Cammy/Gat, ST Claw, MvC2 MSP, MSH Wolverine, SFxT Chun/Cammy - Can they troll?
Examples: 3S Gouki, GGAC Venom, ST Blanka/Claw
Those are the only reasons I’ll pick a character.

Nakoruru isn’t a ninja.
Ratio 4 Nakoruru makes me wish I actually played CvS1 back in the day.

I like how people talk about Morrigan being a shoto-clone when she doesn’t play anything like one in any of the decent games where she’s a relevant character. It’s like they’ve never even seen her run.
