Ya’ll don’t know about dat Sinobu Amou lol
Omega Rugal in kof 95 was a memorable boss for me.
He could kill you with one 3 hit combo. Scary as hell to fight against. Then after completely kicking your ass and destroying any shred of confidence you had in the game, what does he do? He turns to the screen and ripps his own chest and screams.
Its almost like he was taunting you some more. Like “yeah you little bitch, you suck so bad, i have to damage myself for you.”
I think if there were to fight together, Igniz would beat all of them. He may have abit of a ruff time with rugal, but in terms of style and speed. Igniz hands down. He has a small loop that even an amateur like me can beat him easily. Otherwise he is a well put together cheap boss.
my favourite boss are ignit & mukai.they are great and strong. i have underpressure during fight with mukai mayb i seldom play kof 2k3 hahaha.but all other bosses very simple just a piece of cake nothing diferrent
Overall as a boss in the SNK universe connected to KOF, Geese. He’s got it all.
As far as a boss within KOF, Rugal and Goenitz were the most effective and the most awesome, in my opinion.
I love how Orochi was talked about throughout the installments and you were shivering with fear. When you got to him, you kind of went, “Oh…”
Oh! Adel was cool.
I think the bosses after that kind of overdid it. Especially Magaki. I don’t think he was that great of a design or that great of a boss. Just cheap for no reason. Not saying he should be easy, it’s just I felt more “honored” when Geese beat me because I realized his power. Magaki was just an Orochi type. Just stand and throw stuff out. Mukai was alright.
Other bosses, not really that great, I think.
Orochi and Rugal
Design-wise Rugal 98…
Cheapness wise (when humans use him)
98 Ultimate Match Omega Rugal Curbstomps them all in cheapness (easy to use, minimal effort, blocked or unblocked attacks)
why in KOF 98 UM all you need with Rugal 98 UM are the fundamentals of knowing when to block, move, roll and do his command moves…
I could easily annihilate even 98 UM Orochi and Goenitz for the sake of cheap Cheasiness one on one (his hcb+p is the move of moves) no need for supers even
2002 UM Igniz (The most powerful 2002UM Boss in human’s hands) for all the bufferable moves and obscene supers still require fundamentals of range and a relative attempt of rushdown and knowledge of bufferable moves so he isn’t as cheap and own-your-arse-as quickly as possible 98 UM O. Rugal
2002 UM Nightmare Geese requires all of those and yes he may have an infinite but that means he still requires timing (no matter how minimal) and a properly patterned UM 98 Omega Rugal hcb+p is still more annoying than a barrage of 2002 UM N. Geese aerial multiple shippukens and when blocked… O Rugal 98 UM hcb+p kills u faster.
2002 UM Omega Rugal… what a joke granted he builds fast meter but he doesn’t have the killswitch pattern as those aforementioned bosses.
- Rugal always has a place in my heart, but really - he’s not that great of a boss compared to the NESTS saga’s entrants.
- Maki and Chizuru’s tag-team bastard tactics were my second.
- Geonitz is my third. The Orochi crap gets tired. Even the story of the Orochi felt off. If Yamazaki has the Orochi, why doesn’t he have a Beast Mode? And will they ever kill Leona since she is technically one of the Orochi, too?
Yamazaki doesn’t go into Riot of Blood because he’s crazy enough to use pure will power to keep it in. So even Yamazaki has more will power than Iori has over the Riot Blood. No, it’s pointless to kill Leona. Orochi and Saiki are pretty much FF7-style “WEAPONs” made by the planet as a self-defense system against anything that threatens the planet, Gaea. Humans, in this case, are the ones that are the threat and Orochi has been awakened to destroy humans. He pretty much has eight apostles but they will come back to life, reincarnate, or pass on apostle status via descendants. So even if Leona is killed, she will come back as a ghost like Mature or Vice if the Orochi’s power is deeply threatened or her apostle position will be taken in by another being when it comes time for the Orochi to fully regenerate and be ready to reincarnate (which will be in a few more centuries.)
i loved how Igniz always did his infinite on my team.
94 Rugal taught me that going for random jump-ins is a very, very bad thing to do at an early age. Shoutouts to him.
96’ Goenitz was the first boss in a FG that made me say “He’s the measuring stick”.
There hasn’t been a boss before or after him that can match his sheer presence. Not even Orochi.
Igniz is nearly a god… No wait, he is a god.
And all are impotent before him.
yeah igniz, rugal, and Iam say it ash
I would nominate the entire boss roster for a particular game in KOF 96. First you start with Geese, Krauser, and Mr Big. When I 1st saw them I was excited hearing each of their themes in the background. Then Chizuru with the hard to hit style she brought was fun to fight against. Then as some brought up Goenitz to me is the measuring stick to how cool a boss is. To this day he may be kinda easy to beat but I can’t help but have fun fighting agasinst him over and over again.
Goenitz. To this day, that theme has some serious “o shit, o shit” factor
And is lovable!
And why do people keep saying God Rugal or anything from CvS2? That wasn’t Rugal as far as I’m concerned. When shit hits the fan, Rugal takes the the jacket off.
I’ve played a lot of KoF in my life. But there’s a legenday moment for me, back when I was like 11/12 I reached 95’s Omega Rugal on a pizzeria machine. There was none playing the machines… and then the epic match started… I had no idea how to play FGs properly or anything, I tried and tried… it took me about 50~ credits to finally beat Omega Rugal.
Rugal has been one of my all time favorite bosses of FGs. But man, how I hated and feared Omega Rugal. o_O
I made a list for a blog article with my 12 favorite FG bosses. It went like this:
