Sorry if this thread has been made before (I’m pretty sure it has)
My favorite all-time fighting game soundtracks first would have to be the Darkstalkers/Vampire series. I love how it displays a dark yet catchy tune.
Comming in at a close second would be 3rd Strike. It had a more modern type street sound to it, with some really catchy beats that switched up with its own lil versions/ remixes. I enjoy most of the tracks on it.
I also really enjoy the original Street Fighter 2 soundtrack, I can easily enjoy each track and how it speeds up when the life meter is low. Add’s to the intensity.
Another honerable mention would be the Guilty Gear series
with its rock influence soundtrack that isn’t used in most fighters that made you kinda hype up.
and the worst soundtrack has to be MVC2 ugghh!
what are your favorite game soundtracks?
oh and also, I hated the SFA3 announcer. CVS1 announcer is probabbly the most annoying. I found the SuperSF2 announcer to be comical. I’d have to say that the 3rd Strike announcer was probably the best.
Tekken 3 Ogre Stage, FF2 Kim Stage, KOF 97 Monaco Stage, SSX Tricky Untracked Stage, CvSNK2 Rugal Stage, FF7. Im sure there are more, but i cant think at the mo.
I think my favourite soundtrack goes to Guilty Gear X, that has some cool rock music.
I also like the soundtracks for:
Tekken 2
Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Soul Blade "Kahn Super Session"
Lastly I also like the soundtrack for Dead Or Alive 2.
I loved the old school SF2 soundtrack, and I also liked how most of it was upgraded very well into SFA2. Sure the game isn’t perfect, but the music is great. Then SFA3 came out and made it all a bunch of generic techno. ::Sighs:: Also, I loved the music from MvC1. Overall just a good soundtrack, Strider’s especially.
Definitely GGXX/#R. Nothing beats hearing Awe of She or Holy Orders kick up at the beginning of a fight. SCII also has a really good soundtrack, as does KI(glad someone mentioned that, I forgot about it).
