Gdlk would’ve been if after blasting the laptop, he put the gun away and looked into the camera saying,“Your move…CREEP.”

It all sounds like:

…I still think he should have donated the laptop, if only because there are a fuckton of people and schools that could use one. But whatever, it’s his laptop, and I think he’s perfectly justified in shooting it.
Sure, but then how else could he prove to his daughter’s friends how macho he is? Clearly he needed to show them that he could overreact for attention just as much as his daughter, but in a “manly” way. =P
lul @ collage
secondly, if you really think her fellow high school students are going to forget this you’re a fucking dope
Lol anyone notice he missed the 3rd shot?
Never change, man.

Everyone knows my love of skinny girls, man.
I like the hair a trifle longer, though.

I thought that too at first; if you look closely, he hits the logo in the bottom left corner.
Waste of bullets. Should have just capped her in the knee.
She’s not even old enough to be an adventurer yet!
No excuses, the penalty for disobedience is death.
I disagree, sorry…no shots.
At sixteen, simply a year after 15, she has the right in most states to get behind the wheel of a car and put people’s lives at risk. At 15, in most places she can have a learners. If we are talking a 7 year old…sure. 10 maybe. 15 though? Naw, THATS disrespect.
I disagree as well with a parent’s responsability. Our responsability is to do our best to grow our kids into self-sufficient responsable adults. When my son can pay his own taxes and do4esn’t have to lean on me for anything…I’ve done my job. If my son can’t even be responsible enough to keep his place clean without weird circumstances - then on some tangent I’ve failed. Respecting those of greater authority is another life lesson that needs to be taught, and if thats what had to be done, thats what had to be done. The ONLY questionable thing about this at ALL is him putting it on Youtube…that can be debated as childish in its own right, but I know/understand that it isnt meant as a childish gesture, merely as a medium to convey the message.
How about anyone who has to shoot up his kid’s laptop in order to assert his authority is a failure as a human being, much less an authority figure, much less a parent?
I remember that old man, in Tienanmen Square, stepping in front of the brutal Chinese government’s tanks. The government caught him, popped two into his skull, and mailed his wife a bill for the cost of the bullets. Redneck Daddy is Butcher of Tienanmen Square caliber sociopathic. The only thing that keeps assholes like Redneck Daddy from killing people who “defy” them is quality secular law.

That’s what I’m saying lol. My very first statement is about her seeing the video. I’ve also made several posts indicating the punishment is, in itself, quite mild.
Posting whatever he did on Youtube IS the mistake. Anything else, no one has the right to disapprove (although we may disagree); he has the right to raise his child as he sees fit.
The two bullets in the laptop were less sociopathic behavior and more theatetrics. It is safe to say that the laptop was going to be disposed of after the incident happened. So what was left was choosing which way to go about it. He chose to get rid of the laptop in a particularly flashy fashion to drive the statement home.
Real talk: the guy looked really hurt the entire time. Considering all the friends I’ve had that had corporal and other types of punishment be part of our childhood, walking away with your dad putting 10 bullets on your PS1 would’ve been a pretty fair deal in some cases.
3/5 style points with bullets to the laptop. I personally wouldve used tannerite to blow the bitch up.
They had a follow up interview posted saying how they just laugh about the video together and read all the stupid comments people post and laugh at them. At the end of the day at least he didnt bust into her room at night with a belt and beat the shit out of her while her mother watched…
anyone who thinks that destroying their own property is sociopathic cant possibly be worth arguing with
hahaa
also; people o nth internet are uncannily good at knowing everytihng about perfect strangers’ personal lives
perhaps this is why they are so efficient in passing judgemnt
The problem with your post is that his actions are being evaluated by very different set of criteria by Clu 2 and others in the thread. Clu 2 is looking at his actions and going “Considering the full scope of decisions AND the consequences there of, posting a video of you shooting your daughter’s laptop may not be the best possible decisions to address the problem. It may even show a bit disregard for safety to waste bullets just to destroy equipment that could have been better served by donating it to ANYBODY.” This are very fair and valid points, I, for example look at this and go “Hmm…well considering that the daughter decided to use the internet to slander her parents who have provided her with a fairly nice lifestyle, it seems that he wanted to act out a message that conveyed the emotional pain she inflicted. While it seems bad, comparing the child/parent relationship to others I have witness first hands and other accounts I have, this is not necessarily as bad as it looks, and very much a creative way of handling things.” For the most part both of us and others in the thread have very valid points and concerns about raising a child and the implications of this man’s actions in his daughter’s life.
On the other hand, this is contrary to the way we pass judgement about you and other members on this site. We read your post, it includes some stupid comments and then we have to wonder how the fuck is it that your sperm was the one who traveled the death trap that is a vagina. Because all of the intelligence and cleverness that the sack of sugar displayed in crossing the acidic minefield of the woman’s reproductive system is hardly ever found on the posts you make. Such as the one I have quoted.
Hahaaa. Are you really attacking me for questioning a bunch of knowitalls for sincerely pushing clinically defined personality disorder labels to describe somebody they see on a youtube video with zero context (other than that therein)? What you have is a snapshot of this guy’s actions. You dont really know what led up to this point. In reality, you know nothing of this family’s history of navigating personal tribulations or their intentions. Maybe he thinks it was a mistake in retrospec, maybe not, (its not the way I envision myself handling things). But it makes you feel better to pass judgment one way or the other. I dont really see the point of these type of threads, which really seem to involve the larger part of GD. Is it not embarrassing to be a bunch of busybodies talking about other people problems? I come in with an argument on neutrality based out of mutual ignorance and get the worst kind of immature retort. I guess I am stupid to expect anything otherwise. It really just a bunch of monkeys pleasuring themselves in here. Except me, of course. hahaa
