Yeah, her j.C is especially good for that. It’s not really worth push-blocking either as you recover instantly from jump-ins in this game. The push back also isn’t robust enough to stop her from using 5B, 2B or even 5C afterwards, making it harder to punish.
And yes, if you do it low enough, it doesn’t connect so a throw attempt is almost guaranteed in this situation.
I dunno man, rider jC is pretty ambiguous as fuck if you time it correctly after a knockdown
super jump D (switch directions in mid air) jC is hella hard to block if done as a meaty since you can hit on either side of the opponent with just a slight delay
Not feeling, just hating on your character, cuz you’re hating on mine. Sakura is a cripple that does need help walking though…
I am fully aware of how much Leysritt sucks; Ken and I had a discussion on irc about all her weaknesses. I ran her against the computer in hard mode several dozens of times and I can easily see where she fails. I personally think that run away multi-hit projectile spam (which was what dd did in the match he beat me in, which I really couldn’t do anything until sidestepping moved me forward enough to get next to him) or just really good backdashing would absolutely annihilate her (though Ken says she beats out backdashers). She’ll die easily to caster and gilgamesh, almost no contest; or even have a tough time against Rin throw spammers since she has free combo after throw anywhere on the screen. I’d also give it 6 months before people start reflect guarding everything she does, if people even play her still since her dmg potential is low compared to other characters.
Also, why the f- does berserker suck so much. I never had so much trouble trying to land a hit on someone in a fighting game. Not to mention having combos that get messed up due to weird character hitboxes/weights.
The only reason I use Leysritt isn’t cuz I think she’s any good, it’s cuz Berserker is horrible and she’s the next closest character to Illya. If Illya was a playable character, I’d use her in a heartbeat no matter how much she sucks, lol.
Riders j.C is also meant to stop 2A spam and whatnot, if you think theyre just gonna spam pokes, just jump and j.C them. The move is good, whether its blockable low or not.
I’m not convinced that there even are weight classes in this game; all of the combos I’ve tried seem to work on everyone with the same timing. Given that I’ve been working mainly on groundbounce and OTG combos, weight discrepancies should have been pretty obvious.
As for Leysritt, she sucks hard but I’m going to keep playing her because she’s a maid with a halberd.
wow I didn’t expect a game made by 8ing to have difficult execution. Dunno if I’ll be able to play this game, even BnB’s are way too long for me to remember and do fast enough with any consistancy.
The combos are actually alot simplier to remember and do after playing for awhile. Everyone’s big combos are essentially the same looping normals/specials. Kinda like the Mags or IM infinite in Marvel.
DD:I get what you mean by just “playing the game”. This might be one of those games that forces you to learn it by playing it alot. Congrats on 2nd place.
The BnBs are easy. The advanced combos get tricky. You should see some of the combo demonstrations in mission mode, or the Combo missions. You’ll be like, WHAT! What the hell?! I don’t believe. Check it out though.
