Fatal Fury Battle Archives 1 (collection)

Wow…I have a couple of questions though about this game.

Is it me, or did the arcade version of the game have a radically different version of Andy’s stage music? I remember when I first played it in the arcade, Andys music was all piano and better than the SNES cart. Does this game have that arcade music, or am I just bugging, and the music isnt that much different?

Combos:
I have seen some crazy combos on youTube. Example, Kim can actually combo his Super. Is this legit? Is he the only one that can do this? I never knew you could combo into super in this game!

Duck has an Infinite?! What is it?

Is there anything else that I overlooked the first time this game came around?

Thanks, and hopefully I’ll be picking up a copy today, along with Brain Age 2 (damn, I wish i wouldve gotten the Red and Black version!)

NeoGeo Online Collections:

Vol. 1 - MOTW
Vol. 2 - LB Collection
Vol. 3 - KOF Orochi Collection (95, 96, 97)
Vol. 4 - AOF Collection
Vol. 5 - FF Battle Archives 1 (FF games)
Vol. 6 - FF Battle Archives 2 (RBFF games)
Vol. 7 - KOF Nests Collection (99, 00, 01)
Vol. 8 - Fuun Super Combo
Vol. 9 - World Heroes Gorgeous (TBR)
Vol. 10 - Samurai Spirits Collection (TBR)

KOF94RB, KOF98UM (TBR), KOF’02, KOF’03, KOFNW, KOF XI are all single releases (at least in Japan).

Also, I expect Battle Archives 2 to come out in the US at some point. I mean, it would be awkward to have FFBA1 and not have FFBA2.

If SNKP USA people are at least a bit smart they’ll work on bringing SS Collection stateside (buying their latest releases and registering the games on their website probably would help with that).

I have these ones :wgrin: hoping FF vol. 2 comes stateside. I wish Orochi Collection and AoF had training modes though. And also it kinda sucks that the dreamcast versions (ie default) of the Nests collection does not have the option for English

Never gets old lol.

Dude I was watching Real Bout matches and was like “What the fuck is Mike Haggar doing here?!” I was waiting on him to lariat the hell out of Terry lol. Mike needs to be in a damn fighting game!

On playasia.com they have the second collection and Garou, I was hoping both would be this year, but no clue. Garou would have to come in the second collection, since Sony US doesn’t allow 2D fighters not in a collection.

SamSho would rule all, and SNK needs to deliver.

The Nests collection is the Japan version though. I wouldn’t expect english. Regardless, the dialogue is borderline retarded. You aren’t missing much.

World Heroes collection is coming out in Japan soon, too.

No word on a U.S. release, but hopefully SNKP USA can keep up the trend.

I’m very afraid…can’t get it to work…

That would be lame if SNK accidentally killed the code by switching start and select from the Japanese version…

Any luck people?

Got it from Gamestop, by the way. 20 bucks instead of 15, but I wasn’t going to find it anywhere else…without driving really far and spending 5 extra dollars in gas money. Still worth it the $20.

I’m really, really hoping the Card Fighter’s Clash incident was isolated. I don’t care how many typos, missing page references, and incorrect move commands the manual has (and there are a few of each for Battle Archives), as long as the game works I’m happy.

SAY IT AIN’T SO SNKP

Does anyone know how well KOF 00/01 and 02/03 did?

Hopefully they did well enough that SNK releases the Orochi & Nests collections (and 94 & 98 in some configuration…) then again, the only game out of the NESTS saga that hasn’t seen a PS2 release is 99, which got released for the PS1 stateside.

However, KOF 94, 96, & 97 have yet to see decent stateside releases (on affordable systems). Also, SamSho 2 never made it here either.

I swear, sometimes I want to go over to Sony and BEAT UP Kaz Hirai, but I know he’d end up CHARGING me with assault and battery. Then, I’d go to prison and my ass would be BURNING from repeated prison rape.

I have no idea, but i remember the ports of KoF 02/03 being absolute crap.

And so were the KOF 00/01 ports.

Console KOF 2003 was way better than the Arcade version. Not even counting the arranged version.

ps2 is not the main sony console no more so i think single game releases will be possible without being in a collection of some sort. the only question is will SNKP USA deliver on the ports? i’ll be waiting for FFBA 2 and others because importing can be expensive.

i thought console ps2 kof 2k3 was better than the arcade? jap dreamcast kof 2002 was a good port and jap ps2 neowave was close to arcade.

yes that is legit, billy can to and andy

If their games keep coming out with the super cheap $15 price tag I don’t think Sony would have a problem with single releases.

The KOF 2000 port was more or less good enough. But the 2003 port IS much better than the arcade version.

And I can’t imagine SNK has made much money on these American releases. I guess they’ve made enough to warrant them releasing more though, cuz they still are. But whenever they do I still feel extremely grateful… like they are doing us a favor. Cuz they don’t have to… and another company probably wouldn’t.

So true. Regardless of the fact I don’t care much for early Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting games, I am buying these releases just so we can get Garou and a Sam Sho collection in the states hopefully. SNK, I adhere to thee.

I’d expect that SNKP would eventually release ports of their games on the various online stores each system has.

SNKP is supporting Wii VC, PSN and XBLA. I read somewhere that the first game would be an XBLA Fatal Fury game, maybe Real Bout, but I’m not sure. More should be announced at TGS.

It’s FF Special.
