Fast Food Strike in 50 Cities

Also a lot of changes are going on, which is going to make us a shitty chain, and we’ll probably become a publicly traded company in about 5 years, so gotta get the hell out of here. It was fun while it lasted though!

Giving these burger flipper a raise isn’t going to do anything w/ big business compared to small business who wont be able to employ $15 wages causing more unemployment…So more big business & less mom n pop shops…Also expect to pay more for prices like milk, clothing, video games, etc…

If they really wanted to help situation, how about asking minimum wage jobs to start some kind of education fund to obtain credits for local colleges. The more hours you work, the more credits you can use for college to further better yourself. I understand wages needs to be higher but that goes for everyone that isn’t rich.

You underestimate the number of sorry-ass women and men out there these days that don’t know how to cook.

Yeah, “the board” is trying to overthrow our CEO and just awarded themselves 250 million in excess funds. If they fuck with our bonuses and profit-sharing…I don’t know.

(Demoulas Supermarkets Inc; Market Basket) Been some stuff about it in the Boston Globe.

What happened to work at a job to get experience, work hard and move up? I had no problem doing that but I don’t do stupid shit to get demoted and show up for work. Look close at most of these people bitching and I bet if the records of showing up and being on time were shown most would be people I would fire anyways

That doesn’t stop most of them from trying, unfortunately. You can’t fathom how many people microwave their dinner every night, also.

The government should stop giving handouts. A dumb whore who decided to have three kids and not get a decent education shouldn’t be getting paid as much as someone who at least finished high school. The government shouldn’t be giving any support for anyone with over one kid, the system is getting abused.

Its no skin off my back if they get it. Fast food companies wouldnt last very long without them. They are literally the basis of the business, and they should be receiving more than that anyway because the more they produce (per hour), the better the company does, oddly enough their wage stays stagnant!

Its funny that people consider CEO’s and managers to be more deserving of higher pay than fast food workers. Do you know how easy it is to get a business related degree? Its like one step away from being on the football team. As far as I’m concerned, someone with a highschool degree (or none, its debatable whether or not people learn in American highschools) and someone with a general business degree have the same level of real education in most cases, regardless of formalities.

I already make 18/hr as a general mgr of arbys…if my employees get bumped up to 15 i better get bumped up 8 bucks too, FUCK

Handouts? The wealth of this country (and the world) is made on the backs of the poor and middle class.

The biggest hand outs go to the wealthy not only in forms of tax breaks, subsidies and scientific research thats privatized, but low wages brought to them because of the threat of starvation.

Regardless of your clear sexism, the children of these women don’t deserve to suffer. Also a woman who has sex isnt a whore, shes just a woman who has sex. They have every right to these things as men do, but they get stuck with the responsibility of raising a child, and if the guy she screwed up with isnt exactly rolling in money, child support doesnt mean shit.

Its also not exactly easy to get an education if you have “three kids” either, and its not like the CEOs or managers in this country have decent educations themselves. Most of the time they simply have business degrees…

For people who constantly whine about the elite ruining the country, some of you sure do like repeating all their talking points.

I am sorry Fast Food Workers, but NO. Rewarding people for an unskilled and easily replaceable position? WOW. This country is full of lazy fucks. If you’re in your mid-late 20s or older and you’re flipping burgers, here’s a newsflash: **You Fucked Up. **

***How about we stop popping out all these humans? The world was never designed to handle this many people. Every fucking problem we have as a society can be tied to overpopulation. ***

Let’s create robots to handle making burgers. It’s actually quite simple to create them. Anyone working in the fast food industry can collect 50K a year for the rest of their lives until they die and never have to work. The catch? Don’t fucking pro-create. If you do, you’re removed from the program and have to work.

Isn’t Rcaido unemployed?

Wrong.

This country is made on the backs of the dudes who spent all their time paying attention to their professors in school and studying after school, instead of cutting class playing basketball and then complaining about not being able to find a job except McDonald’s while getting handouts from the government paid by the guys that are actually hard working citizens.

You sound like a lazy bum asking for a handout, you’re far too inexperienced and uneducated to be able to even understand what I’m talking about, come back later.

The world has been and always will be ran by dudes who hustle.

You sound incredibly naive if you think simply going to college means you get a good job, or any job for that matter. I personally know several engineers who got their BS with 3.5 GPA’s who cant find work in their field and are currently working in a warehouse. Employment has almost nothing to do with education and intelligence. It has more to do with networking. I’ve even had college professors flat out tell me that its not the smartest people who get the job, its the most aggressive people. Its actually a useless personality trait.

Im not lazy, I worked my entire life, two full time jobs (programmer and computer repair), no time to spend the money. I saved up enough to put myself through college and buy my own car with cash.

The difference is, I have a good bullshit detector, and people who run businesses are just as uneducated as the average American.

How far would McDonalds be if not for the people who actually prepare and serve the food? A business can’t survive with CEOs and managers only, you NEED the general work force, and the work they do is often more valuable than those of higher paid work because a business can actually run for a certain amount of time with nothing more than the core function of the business. Im not saying it would be entirely successful that way, but it would actually get SOME work done as opposed to the other way. With modern capitalism, you actually need both sides to have a functioning business, one cant exist without the other, neither are really more educated than the other.

In the off-chance that they actually get significantly more pay, this causes quite an odd chain reaction of things… people at other jobs that pay around what they’re asking for now would demand an increase as well, since “what’s the point of staying here if I can do the much easier McDonald’s job and make the same or more money?”… and if the pay at a variety of other jobs goes up to remain competitive and superior to the fast food world, then they’re right back at being bottom of the ladder once again, because in that scenario, $15.00 per hour is now the new “worthless shit” pay that you can’t live on.

Really, this is a teenager’s job to do during the summer, to make some cash for video games or saving up for a long time for some cheap ass used car or something. It’s insane to think a McD’s paycheck would ever be able to support a whole family anyway, unless you happen to be upper-management, or actually own one of the locations. Where’s the ambition and desire to achieve something better for yourself? Oh I forgot, Americans don’t believe in those things anymore because I guess that’s not “cool”. So much for self-reliance, long-term planning and ambitious dreams.

Well, if it’s that easy, then why don’t you start and run your own business?

To be fair, I think the person running Capcom is dumber than the average American at the very least.

When McDonalds started I am 100% positive the brothers who founded it were the workers until the business made enough so they could hire workers to fill in for them.

Starting a business isnt as easy as getting money, getting a name, finding a location.

Just read about the people who started their business from the ground up, and I’ll guarantee you It involves them working 1000x harder than the people flipping burgers right now.
