Fast Fly/Unfly combos

s.hk ^ sj.lp sj.lk sj.mp fly hp-throw f.lk lpRP f.lk+Cap f.mk dpRP

instead of sj.lp sj.lk sj.mp you can use sj.lk sj.mp (sj.mk)

The last f.mk can be replaced with f.hp for a little more damage but it’s less consistent

If you’re talking about a combo that you should do regularly, just do s.hk+Cap ^ sj.lk sj.mp hpRP sj.hp sj.hk

Umm… mag and psy can both dhc before the unblockable hits, psy can use psyblade to raise up before the dhc. If mag has unfly (which you just gave him with the fp bounce) you can fly/unfly air dash. alot of lower tier char. eat the unblockable, but dont abuse it on god tier, especially if they have supers.

Have you ever escaped the unblockable by DHCing?

Anyone knows a trick for doing this - launcher, lk, ff.lk, unfly, lk, ff.lk +assist, mk, dragon punch RP…

when already flying - lk, unfly, lk, ff.lk,mk, RP. is this possible in medium/small characters?? I only do this few times in sentinel…

i was under the impression that its best to fast fly after a lk but i have seen sanford do this multiple times

and i started to wonder if sent could just keep going on forever until unfly ran out

um. no, you can’t keep that going forever as you thought because your opponent is gonna get higher after every hit.

yea I escape the unblockable with MTxxPC all the time, you just have to watch for it.

Quick question: when doing fast fly’s on Sentinal, do you guys recommend always doing the dragon rocket punch or the regular one? Or first just look at the positioning of the character before choosing what rocket punch to do? Thanks

Fast fly should usually be done with upward RP. A regular sj combo should usually be done with horizontal RP.

Heres something i dont get. I seen this a few times before. Lets say, someone whiffed an AHVB, sent flew around and stayed in flight mode till it was over. After, he hit cable with f.lp lpRP f.lk f.mk dpRP.

Now how did the kicks and dpRP still combo after he hit them with a previous RP? He wasnt in a corner either. I tried this before and cant get it to work.

Technical answer is that the recovery of the lpRP plus the frames for the lk was shorter than the hit stun imparted by the lpRP.

it should work, just practice your timing.

At Evo Finals I watched alot of players do something like.

lk, fly, lk, unfly, lk, fly.

When their opp. was in the corner.

What exactly is that… and what’s its used for

I’ve seen s.lk s.mk (or s.mp) fly lk unfly lk fly.

Are you talking about that or are you talking about something else?

it’s still the same pattern. you just started with s.lk -> s.mp/s.mk before doing FF.
then the entire string goes like

fly mode
[lk unfly lk fly] x N

well, to “refly” obviously you must need to be flying. and then to fly again, you must unfly. so basically while you’re flying, you unfly, then fly again immediately without performing any actions in between. if you’ve got fast enough hands you can do fast fly combos such as launch, lp, lp, fly, lp, lp, unfly, fly, lp lp, unfly fly lp lp.

its not good for damage but for show and somtimes resets.

in non combo situations you can use the technique to apply pressure which im sure you see in some videos where they use lk’s or hk’s.

the key isnt so much the speed (although you need to do it pretty fast) but timing the fast fly after the refly is what i find to be difficult
