To anyone lurking in the Grand Forks area, I’m holding a casual MvC3 tournament in Smith Hall’s Smith 144 around 9 tonight. Please come by! It would be nice to meet some SRK peeps.

Also ladies (if there are any out there) and gentlemen of Fargo/Moorhead and Grand Forks, (and other areas that may be interested) there will be a GNG event in the cities during the first weekend of November. (Gene said Saturday, Nov 6th but the 6th is a Sunday lol) We should go and share a “sponsorship” lol.

Cletus is that UMvC3 at your Comic-Con? If so I’ll try so hard to get there because I want to get my hands on my projected team ASAP lol
If that doesn’t happen though I’m sure I could maybe rouse a group (HINT HINT FARGO/MOORHEAD GUYS) to come up for a tournament. From what I saw on your boards though, there wasn’t much for money being thrown around… Was I just missing something?

Nothing as far as I know in terms of getting UMvC3 or any presence from Capcom. Our presence there is just a form of entertainment for people who are at the convention already, though most of our scene goes because there’s MvC3 (or SF4 for prior years). We’re still sorting things out, but the way things are looking its going to be $10/person to enter and all that will be given out to top 3. Unfortunate part of it is that that would be on top of the convention fee.
The other tournaments don’t have cash prizes (one being because we pay to get into the LAN, and the other being because it’s a launch tournament), but I anticipate you’d be able to get some MMs from some of the more serious players; I think the next standard “pay only for tournaments and all of that goes to the prize pot” tournament that we have would be in March.
Alright I think I’ll just wait until March. I’m a patient man
